The mid 2018 statement in the thread a couple before is exactly correct, at least by most respectable sources. This has been too big of a downturn for it to recover within the next year or so and if you think we've seen the worst, wait. Speaking for my facility but I'm sure others follow suit, despite the massive layoffs that have occurred already, many are still employed in hopes the market would've started to balance by now. It hasn't. In 08, our facility had half the employees it has currently and the downturn wasn't close to being as bad as what we're now experiencing. On top of this, our profits were even better then. The best thing anyone can do at this juncture is to get your applications out there and keep your head down in the meantime. Much more fat is still to be trimmed.

Using "pass a bill that requires" and "free" in the same post is oxymoronic. I added the "oxy-" to be nice.

mid-2018 things will start to pickup. there is just too much surplus out there. If any old timers on here, remember 1982 - 1990 oil era? Same song just a new record on a boom box. Buckle down people, its going to be a few years.

If our Gov. wasn't so damn liberal, and all the welfare participants would stop voting for them, law makers could pass a bill that requires US refinery's to use at least 80% of America oil. If our Gov. wanted the US to be a leader again, it can be done but isn't. Makes one wonder just how free America really is now days...

The price of oil is up to $48 / $43 per barrel, so the down turn is over. The prices are rising not dropping. We survived the down turn now get ready for the feast. Read my lips, "no more layoffs! Get ready for another raise this year! Oil going up to $50/barel by next week"
