This group has severely cut production and is struggling to come up with any reasonable future strategy. It's a given that the PC market is in bad decline so it will not turn around and suddenly become a 30-40 year career. Cheap chips will now overwhelm the markets and Intel will not be able to compete no matter what it does. Lean manufacturing? Don't make me laugh. These mgrs have been living behind this buzzword until it took two years of layoffs to expose them. The obvious tactical reaction should be to eliminate 50% of the mgrs since this division is extremely bloated with redundancy and duplication. The wafer starts also does not support that these managers keep their positions.
