Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

If ODI is open or the requests for ODI made long before layoff announcement are ignored by HR and you get ISP'ed, isn't that illegal?

Read through the blue paper you got at your 2:1 layoff meeting. Outcome #2: Statutory appeals will be forwarded to HR Legal for ODI. Why HR Legal, and not just plain old HR, you ask? So they can uphold the ISP decision without getting sued. In other words, to cover their asses.

I have been through 2 ODIs in the last 8 years. One was successful (because it involved indisputable, publicly known data that affected many people, not just me), and the other was a complete sham (because it was my word vs. my manager's, and the HR rep protected the manager at all costs).

If you do keep fighting, I recommend you have rock solid data to back you up.

The Intel investigation process to fight falsified reviews is even more corrupt than the original corruption of lying on reviews to meet the layoff numbers since it involves many groups of people at different levels collaborating to maintain the lie..... A.K.A. a conspiracy. This is much more wretched and vile than a single lying scumbag for the original review.

This seems really, really wrong - egregiously wrong. if they offer a process to prevent fraud and negligence with the focal system, then isn't there an inherent due right to be able to use the process? The flag was raised before layoffs were even announced.

Trust when I say they will make up some b.s. Story about their investigation and you'll be wrong. Happened to me. Sorry.

Problem is no one wants to sue them because they are bullies.

They can simply reinstate you if you prevail in the ODI.

Yes, the hidden agenda behind low rating was part of the investigation. HR rep completely ignored my mails in the two weeks prior to termination.

Did they share the firing criteria with you? Was your so called "low performance" incident(s) part of the investigation? If it was then you likely have a strong case. Actually, I would contact your ODI HR rep. They may not even realize you were let go.

Whoa! Are you saying you had a pending ODI and they terminated you in the middle of the investigation?

ODI is the process at Intel for complaining what you believe is wrongful. By law, yes you have a right to complain but getting terminated in the process does not seem right.

Are you sure ODI is required by law?

Nope. Or, rather, not necessarily, depending on where you live.

It could be the basis for a lawsuit, depending on the details. Legal action might not be worth your time or effort.
