pros/cons

VSP - tax'ed as an income (41% after allowances), mortgage protection not executable, 9 week wait for social welfare. can be rehired in the future.

ISP - Tax free (nearly), can execute mortgage protection, no wait for social welfare. on the no rehire list.

600 per week is the government statutory 2 weeks per year of service level. Usually if your employer pays you say 5 weeks per year on top of statutory redundancy this means 5 weeks per year at your salary basic level + 2 weeks per year at 600 EUR + 1 extra statutory week. If you were employed for 10 years this would be 50 weeks at salary level + 21 weeks ((2*10)+1) at EUR 600

What? You get 111weeks of pay total, 600 euros a week? that's pretty good, plus you get free health care too. In US, you get 26 weeks unemployment, max $450 per week and it is taxable income. Feels like a third-world country compared to Europe. Now I want a big government that takes care of its people!

Selection criteria from other threads was:

ISP: anything less than Successful SSL3 (I guess if you 2015 focal was EE or O you might be OK)

VSP: too long in the same grade, average focal performance

take with a pinch of salt though

Are new hires still on temporary contracts affected?

Ireland doesn't really have ISPs per sae... the ISPs are very much like VSPs, but I think you are "encouraged" to take it if you are an ISP.

Aw man I doubt I qualify but that is an unreal package! I'm leaving this Summer anyway, I'm so jealous of anyone that gets this!

€600 is the statutory cap... Maybe that was what it's referring to.

Capped at 600 means what exactly? Anyone on a senior wage is going to be on a lot more than 600 per week. Is that pre or post tax?

Seems targeted towards low grades which is weird.
