Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Agree with @fdb. Some people don't get point of these posts. Every company has the right to let employees go. We all signed the papers on our first day that we can leave Intel and Intel can let us go at any time. But, at the end we are human beings if not living beings. Since the reduction announcement came out I can't tell how many times I heard and read in videos and emails from BK, Murthy, and Davis that people affected would be treated with "respect and dignity". You want to lay me off, lay me off, but don't rip me off my dignity and treat me like a dirty criminal. What the author describes is exactly how I was treated. This is crazy - it's like Intel is run by an actual lunatic!

As for me, I will not buy another Intel product. And you know what - that won't have any impact on my life at all. Think about that for a second. If you never buy another Intel product would you be any worse off? That says something about how quickly Intel is being disrupted because I wouldn't have been able to say "no impact" to an Intel boycott 5yrs ago.

The author doesn't seem to be a smart asslike @zxv who was able to snoop around and sense any danger. Still I don't think he deserves the treatment he received, which is the point in discussion. When one is very dedicated and committed to his/her job, he/she could miss some information not communicated officially and directly.

I have sympathy for the poor fella but jeez louise....this guy is either completely clueless or embellishing quite a bit.

Unless he lived under a rock...his employer announced the week before that 12,000 would be laid off starting that week, and numerous sources leaked criteria for that layoff. As well, the previous layoff last year TOLD everyone loud and clear that SSL4 and below was the new BE.

What a great post on that linkedin URL - everyone should read it. Intel has truly moved from neutral to evil over the last several years. They are hastening their own disruption by treating their employees this way. I don't care how paranoid you are about IP theft, you don't treat people this way.
