Intel stock is now at the same place it was in 1998. ARMH (ARM) is >10x it's 1998 stock price. In technology disruptions you always buy the disruptor: that would be ARMH. There will be a time to short Intel stock too but most likely that will be when ARM has made some inroads in servers.

Buy AMD. Cheap ones. They'll skyrocket after China deal.
I plan to buy more someday
Keep it. You will be a millionaire one day.
You know, the dumbest thing you can do is to buy or sell stock based on announcements of a layoff and postings by disgruntled employees. Here's why.

The posts on this blog, is going to be heavily biased with disgruntled people who are here to bitch and moan. That's not to say that their bitching and moaning isn't justified. It probably is. But of course the loudest and most vocal are going to be the bitch and moaners here. Afterall, someone doing ok (and I suspect a lot at intel is, because 12k is only a small fraction of the entire workforce), probably wouldn't take the time to share about their experience, and their opinion on the state of Intel.

What is bad news for an employee (layoffs), usually ends up being great news for shareholders. At a behemoth like intel, there definitely is a lot of fat than can be cut. And cutting is the right thing to do.

Stock price movement rarely is logical. It's all about expectations and perception. If in doubt, just look at AMD. People were telling me what a horrible idea it was to buy a lot of AMD stock when it was $1.95/share, because it's a sh--ty company, with sh--ty products, and their roadmap is all fvcked up, management is incompetent. True, and I totally agreed with them. But my take on this was someone was bound to buy or invest in AMD, if alone for the patents and brand name, and/or an activist investor/hedge fund would end up trying to oust the board and CEO/executives (kinda like what's going on at Yahoo right now). And, as expected, some chinese companies just bankrolled AMD in exchange with a licensing deal.

Intel still generates a lot of money and has a lot of cash. That isn't going to change. What perhaps will change is people's perception of intel no longer being a growth company, but more of a value/run the business type of company. Expect the company to start increasing its dividend and return to investors.
With the current data and trend, it looks to fall further,
