Thread regarding IBM layoffs

Does IBM offer remote entry level work?

I work for IBM in NY and have a brother who is attempting to stay local to a southern state for his spouse (not Texas or SC) and I'm trying desperately to help him get a job. I think of the people I talk to on support lines... He could easily do that sort of work.

Just not sure who to contact?...I actually hold out hope with IBM it's not perfect but could be worse and...he could really just use anything. I just don't know how to help.

As you can notice on this board, the company is contracting and shipping jobs overseas. You'd be much better off looking somewhere else as IBM will continue to drop US based resource for many many quarters

Got notice march 2. And anothe mass layoff ahh I should say RA. Coming in June. IBM to do amass cut based on second quarter below ground now in revenue in da dump. As they say. So please seek employment elsewhere. IBM is just not a good company anymore and 401 k matching now sucks too.

IBM has a hiring freeze going on (despite what they say about all of the "fake" job openings to congress and the media) and is very busy jettisoning (firing) US workers in order to replace them with low-cost H-1B workers from India and other countries. If your brother is H-1B and willing to work for $17k, he should be a shoe-in. Otherwise, if you love him, please don't try to get him a job in IBM.
