Folks, not sure why the board is not seeing it. Intel is late to IOT. This move may backfire. Frankly IOT should be on top of project cuts.

My group supported IoT for many years. They can change the name over and over (Embedded iA, CMAD, etc.), but it is still a lagging business for Intel with only ~4-5% of the market. That share has not grown for at least two decades. What MCM sees as an area of growth is nothing more than a strategy to extend the life of iA products in the embedded space. That is all you need to know.
IoT is just a contemporary name to milk the cow for as long as it is economical to keep an EOL fab open to produce wafers at a profit. Nothing wrong with that, but this is more of a strategy to extend the useful life of the product than to actually have a strategy for growth.
I don't understand how intel expects it can compete in IOT when they can't compete in phone SOC. IOT seems to the casual observer lije it will be more cutthroat and lower margin than phones. Unless intel thinks things like industrial or military hardened pc, servers and telecom equipment are part of IOT? It's the only way I see the revenues could be as high as reported
This is just that little brat, BK, playing in Mommy's sandbox with his little, worthless toys. He'll be called in for dinner soon. Waaaaa!
IoT for intel is nothing less but a joke. Dont let the management, who has no clue of what it really means to fool the employees once again.
Intel seems to be late at every party.
High level Intel Mgr to us marketing folks, "if it's a set top box, don't submit it". He meant it was likely a low volume niche. That was 12 years ago
Indians will make IoT great again as they make up almost the whole group.
IoT...what a hoot! I admire those who have promoted this vague bag-o-sh*t.
IoT grew 7% last year and 22% Q1 YoY. Enough said.
AI is the future.
Yes let's cut everything and share what is left in the bank.
