Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Slipped through the cracks

Last focal I had an S with SSL4. I was waiting for that dreaded 1:1 email starting Monday morning, but it never came. Still sweating bullets Friday....still nothing. At 4:30 I had figured I was ok. Wound up walking out at 5:00 with my job intact. Don't know how or why but I made it through.

You must have less than 10 years with Intel and are under 50 years of age.

I'm willing to bet that either your boss was on vacation OR you have less than 10 years with the company. I'm seeing the trend of laying off the old timers.

Just an over-site! Contact HR and they can correct that.

well, hope you made it this time around but do come back and let us know...very odd that everyone else got it with SSL4/5 this year except for you?

The Bobs only fixed the glitch in your case. Watch out for no paycheck and hold on tight to the stapler.

Sorry brother, hope you really survived.

Your project is getting axed so why have disgruntled employees with ISP?

If you were rated Successful this year with a SSL4 you were ISP'd. I know of 2 people who were exceeds last year and now are ex-Intel employees because of being Successful SSL4 this year.

DId you have an O or E last year? If so, those are the only exception for not getting ISP.

Was your manager on vacation? I know of 2 people the managers are waiting to come back from vacation to deliver the ISP's. So it isn't completely over. They have a few still left to do.

I think last summer's layoffs were a test case with the new criteria. I think managers knew darn well this time around that if they wanted to get rid of someone, they just needed to give them an SSL4 or 5 and wait...

So, yes, it is impersonal from the top, but can get really personal down near the bottom.

From what i've seen most people laid off also have many years working for intel (more than 10 years), my guess is that it's cost related, BK wants to keep the best talent but as cheap as he can get it.

Unbelievable. My Indian college got laid off for just one stock level 4 this year although he has all successful last few years and ssl3.. We got an Indian manager..so it is not about where you come from, it is the new criteria/filter Intel is applying to all of us..

They need to keep you around to harvest your organs. Your genes match the database.

Sounds like they have other plans for you. You may have survived this week, but this rating and stock level is ISP material.
