I am a bit confused. BK's time line says "Layoffs done by Apr 29" (for the US locations). Project cancellations, group colocation impact notified by end of June. I am sure there will be some jobs eliminated because of project cancellations/group co-location. Don't these count as Layoffs? Is there a difference in Package?

Both options are possible ...confirmed that. Have no idea what the decision criteria will be used to layoff vs keep..
@kku there is no redeployment. If project get cancelled or site is closed and if you are not re-assigned to another position you WILL get the dreaded 1:1 meeting notice from your manager, and WILL be walked out by the HR goons.
The management will close and cull as the need arises. You will be informed on a need to know basis.
I hope for redeployment programs. We are losing people already via ISP/ERP that will make it impossible to "run" this business down the bowels of IT (I don't mean managers we can lose them just fine)
When project cancellation happens, say CND, BXT programs, then they cannot keep hundreds and thousands of engineers. So people need to let go.. means, ISP and VSP
I speculate that will mean being in redeployment if your project/department gets shut down; in that case they'll give you some time to find another position at the company or you could take some sort of exit package. With so many people laid off; it will probably be easy to find another team that needs more people.
