Don't be fooled. Intel has started shedding grade 57 s that don't fit the yes-man criteria. GLs/MTLs are screwing these guys.

VSP for SNE's, definitely. Got mine. Topped out in 57, working nights for too long, not enough visibility.
Yes, that applies to non exempts as well. They do want to shed MT's top heavy in Grade 57. They did it though. They used to hire in at 52 and it would take people a really long time to work up to 57. They eliminated the lower job grades and only kept 55's and then those people got promo'd faster than they would have. The new 57 is the old 55, etc. Now they have a bunch of high paid people that do not even work on equipment. Who would leave that kind of pay if they felt like they could stay for awhile? Not everyone wants to be an engineer, there is no other direction if your sitting at 57. Some people have been at 57 for 10 years or more.
Wouldn't make any sense. I'd have to guess most NEs would have to be ISPd if they used the same criteria.
