I thought I would feel relief. Instead, there's been the letdown effect of being on high alert all week. I have been feeling depressed, then okay, then depressed, then came tears and fatigue. Went for a bike ride. Trying to do what I can control without being too lazy/depressed. But geez - not what I was hoping for on a sunny weekend. Not to mention that we have a worldwide F2F tomorrow in Oregon and I don't know who from the UK, Ireland, and Bangalore will actually be there.

I just completed 250 mile bicycle ride from jones farm in Hillsboro Oregon to port Townsend Washington and I feel great I will ride another 60 miles to Bellingham Washington tomorrow

Gosh! I feel great after having been laid off by Intel this week. Never have to work 24/7 again for that garbage scow.
You are not alone. I was laid off last year and still nightmare from Intel. Once you work in one place for that long you begin to think its home until you realize it was not the case when you see your friends being walked out like criminals. I found a job shortly after lay off, thank god and can't imagine in a million year going back to this hell hole. Best remedy is to find a job outside Intel and you will see dramatic changes in your lifestyle plus change is always good. I make big bonuses now, you know like the one we used to get on January and I get the once a qtr. Life is good outside Intel.
Next week is when you'll start hearing of people you knew years ago being let go, as news starts to percolate around the water cooler.
Was on vacation end of last week. I don't fit the ISP criteria, as I've never had IR or SSL4, but still a bit stressed an ISP could be waiting for me when I get back in. I guess I'm being irrational. Don't like that a job can stress me out this much.
emotionally drained. dread going to Intel after surviving layoffs. Reorgs, group mergers, project closures ahead. I am guessing some VSPs will be forced into ISPs going forward. just a miserable and dreadful feeling going forward.
Same here, Fri was OK, down Sat, Sun even worse. Also, very angry, thats a good sign, first step to healing. 17 years w/Intel
My weekend was great. May be because I don't work at Intel.
Granted, while layoffs are not fun, you can't stop living life and let fear linger. The days of a career at a single company are few and far between. People should plan better, instead they fail to plan at all.
