One to two years from now you will realize this. Sell your stock when it peaks this week. Prepare to change fields or industry. Get out of California if you can. The big money is moving into IoT, Cloud, assisted living, and the marijuana industry.

I know at least 2 people who got ISP last year.... When it was not same day removal policy rather they had 4-5 weeks before last day at Intel. Both had offee before leaving intel. Both took last 2 weeks off. Came back turned in their badges equipment on Friday and were on new job on Monday. Yes there are exceptions but its not the end of world. Rest the culture of big technology companies in Silicon Valley is almost same. One deal with same crap or satisfaction with varying degrees whether they work for Intel, Microsoft, Google, Broadcom or Qualcomm. Friends who moved to Qualcomm or Samsung tell similar stories

SSL4 casualty from 2015 right here. Had a job offer the same week I was laid off and my manager still has not asked me what happend @Intel. He is just happy I am with them. It's all in your head dude.
I certainly hope the marijuana industry is not the next big thing. People who smoke it are a bunch of irresponsible losers and we don't need any more of that.
It depends on the job market need. Tech workers will be in an oversupply scenario.
you really think people at other companies care enough to memorize such a date... They don't. If have ever been involved in a hiring process, you would know, soo much less effort goes into it than you think.
There is always hope. Unfortunately, the market will be flooded with Tech employees so any hiring will be ultaselective and a lower salary. You may want to look at other options outside of technology. Maybe utilize your technexperience in some innovative way in a different industry?
Don't be so pessimistic. Recruiters understand that people get laid off, especially in this economic environment. It doesn't mean the laid off people are no good or unhirable.
