Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

YET another VERY bad move by BK... Scraping Broxton?!

Agreed that SoFIA did not do any well and just was huge waste of monies to INTEL, but, what The (IN)Hell, has Broxton to do with all this? It was planned as main force/the next generation for tablets and small laptop form factors.

Broxton should be not scrapped, just in contrary. This one is good replacement for all previous ATOM lines, as final successor/final one before switching to CORE on-fly-design?!

And yet... they plan now to continue with Apollo Lake, as embedded version of Broxton to hit the market at the end of Y2016??? But this one is nothing less or more that Broxton based on Goldmont core (in different packaging) itself!

These people, INTEL executives... What they are really smokin'? Some strong synthetics, or what (the hell)I? Scrapping INTEL executives' brains really fast! ;-)

OK, OK. I am clueless, I am an idiot... Agree. ;-)

But. If executive management decide still to go with Apollo Lake - I (Broxton/BXT embedded variant), it seems that they did terrible/catastrophic job, what I am reading here.

Either they scrapped it all, either they continue with the BXT program. ON/OFF strategy, I do not see nuthin' but loses and devastation with the current strategy.

In nutshell, who will as a big customer go with the embedded variant, when the CCG ones are scrapped (this never happened before)???

And some of you say: hey, ARM is prevailing also in embedded space, so WTF?!

The Zen phone 2 (moorefield) was a very compelling product. Not sure why they try to improve on that; maybe it has to do with low margins.

Broxton can NOT compete against ARM SoCs in both price and tech, if anything it is behind by at least a year now versus leading edge ARM SoCs. Based on this was a no brainer even for Intel execs.
