Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Why is BK still employed?

Seems like everything he tried has failed.

Tablet contra revenue, Sofia, Broxton, 1272 delay, MICA bracelet, Intel Media

If I was writing his review, he's below IR.

The board needs to fire him now to plug this hold in this sinking ship.

Intel doesn't need restructuring, it needs new leadership.

Also, lets add failed intel foundry to BK's credentials.

The only real customer they had (ALTERA), they ended up buying way overpriced. Way to go BK!

Folks THIS IS Capitalism at its worst - where we hire indiscriminately & fire! Intel should have scaled back may be 3-5 years back when the mobile market was taking over Desktops + Laptops. We should not have hired then (to fire now). BK is doing his job of streamlining the company. How it is implemented by HR / Managers below him is a different matter.

From the last message below, the author mentions Sohail. He is also nothing but a pompous a**hole who is absolutely undeserving of an executive VP position. He is just there to kiss BK' s ass

BTW, moores law is very unforgiving. It's an all or nothing game. If you get beat at one process node, your competitor takes the profits and keeps beating you at the next node and the next one.

Yet BK has the gall to go on earnings call and say 'OOps we got delayed a bit but its no big deal'.

This idiot has squandered intel's process lead under his watch, and this is huge deal. TSMC is now within spitting distance and they will overtake Intel in terms of net income this year

(projected at 11 billion).

When they pour this money into their process dev, intel would lose its process lead forever.

TSMC is beating intel at it's own game, while BK twiddles his thumbs and sohail gets promoted for his disastrous management that lead to this delay.

Intel is a moore's law one trick poney. It can't lose its only trick guys.

IF everything BK tries fails, then the board needs to cut its losses and FIRE his sorry ass

That Steve jobs iPHONE example is flawed. Steve Jobs had tons of success before iPhone.

He was a founder CEO and not a hired professional CEO like BK. He built apple from ground up with wozniak and Ives. He had breakthrough success with Mac, NeXT, pixar & iMAC well before the iphone.

Let's not compare steve jobs with BK, that would be an insult to jobs.

Steve jobs created a $600 billion behemoth of company pretty much by himself.

BK took reins of a highly successful company but under his management revenues are stagnant and profit margins are squeezing.

BK's gotta go, someone start a web petition, before we all lose our jobs under his mismanagement.

""Tablet contra revenue, Sofia, Broxton, 1272 delay, MICA bracelet, Intel Media ""

Yes but he is always step ahead w/ right set of buzzwords - those are deprecated, IoT, drones and cloud are the new ones - yeah!

BK and renee presented a joint strategy to the board, to get the CEO/president position. With Renee out and all of BKs efforts failing, it is now clear that that strategy was bogus and has failed this once great company.

BK was behind the $300 million diversity fund last year. At 100k per head, cutting that fund would have saved 3000 US jobs. Intel needs merit based employees and merit based management .

BK's gotta go so this diversity hiring can stop. The $300 million slush fund to pay managers for hiring 'diverse' candidates was a bad idea. Its ok if the interview pool is reflective of the diversity within the job market, but the best person to do the job should be hired irrespective of the color of their skin.

BK needs to go now! Someone start a web petition for BKexit!

The greatest thing about BK is he tries out different things, unlike his lazy predecessors. That's why he is needed. Remember how many times Steve Jobs failed before iphone?

Would be a great irony if BK is replaced by Diane due his push for more diversity. :-) of course he will make out well with parting gifts far exceeding his contributions.

BK will probably the "bad guy" for the next 2 years, get the workforce slimmed down and be kicked out once a (Female of color) replacement is ready to take over as our saviour.

When the board needed "something big", they elected to promote this tiny tyke. He does not have one success story to his name. He cannot tell you that after implementation of plan A, he brought in X billion dollars to the company. These numbers and achievements (or in BK's case, lack thereof) will always be kept undercover because they'll be red. The board has given this phony enough time to make good on the promises (lies) he promoted to them and needs to fire him.

BK certainly lacks the respect of his work force. Apparently he and the Board of Directors don't really care much about that. Folks you need to remember, Intel did make a 2 billion dollar profit last quarter. Shareholders and BOD are fine with what this CEO is doing. You are simply a number. Get over it.

You saw a certain woman's promo to a Executive VP this week no doubt, despite the ill timing?? I suspect you were looking into the face of the future CEO (to happen at some point).
