Most of the people have not chosen to work for Intel as they just joined as a result of an acquisition. Socialism does not work: it is too nice with capitalism

More European sites may end up being fired, then what ? you'll be happy ? great... you are far from being a growth mindset person. You can only bring down companies with such mindset rather than bring them to a prosperous trend.
yes... it's true.. America is soooo beautiful... only when you forget about unemployment rate, subprime mortgage crisis, guns, want to police the world, 270m++ guns in the US (5 times more than any other nation),75% of the US lives paycheck to paycheck, 3% of the population owns 97% of the wealth etc etc...

you know what ? i'll be on vacations in the us this summer and happy to be there...because America and Americans are great and different from my native country ! but just like in others countries, dumbs like you do exists.. that's life, we just need to avoid them to spend a happy day :).

Socialism works until it doesn't. More European sites will inevitably be closed. It takes longer than in the US but it's inevitable.

Let's not forget that as much as they'd like to deny it, Intel is a socialist company. It ranks at the top in receiving support from local, state and federal government hand-outs.

Funny how Intel is unable to handle 0 or 1-hour time-zone differences and shuts down sites and forces collocation/relocation. But daily 8-12 hour delays emailing back and forth are fine when working across geos.
Not sure why you spend such time explaining OP what's the situation in Europe.

OP, and maybe others, have been trolling the forum for weeks now with such kind of stupid posts.
The explanations (given previously) may be interesting for others who try to understand and have an unbiased view, but that's hard through the US media prism, if you haven't gone outside US to understand Europe ( and vice versa !)

There's nothing free in Europe and for example in France... healthcare, university, retirement, infrastructure etc etc... the working people are paying for this ! and they are being heavily taxed. It doesn't come for free..

just to fix the idea for any guy thinking European wages are at the same (insane ?) level as in the US, i've pulled out some figures from IESF giving the MEDIAN salary values (for engineers in France):

engineers first job (20-24 years old): 35 k€/39.6k$ .

35-39 years old : 60 k€/67.8 k$

reaching 100 k€/113k$ at the END of an engineering carrier, assuming you can go to the end...which is supposed to be in the best case roughly between 70/73 years old....
then you can remove from this a good third due to taxes..... and you only start getting a feeling of what that means working in Europe and you start wondering where are my 150, 200, 250 k$ i am being offered in the US ????
- if life is soooooo easy in Europe, no problem: just come and work here. We can try to see how you are dealing with this. I see a lot of European engineers going to the US for a living, but (how strange) not so much US citizen coming to Europe ( at least in the engineering field).

and... talking bias, you look to much at tv and should now stop with the 35 hours a week for the french... this does not exist in such jobs where most of them are yearly contracted. That means that there is no limit for a week. understood ?.

I've worked in the US a lot for long periods of time, and my general feeling was that between the coffee breaks/talks, meetings etc.. that was less stressful than in a European place.. more effective ? i wouldn't comment further....

Socialism has a 100% failure rate throughout history. If that's how you redefine "works" then yes, it does.
As for ISP's, European laws get in the way of ISP's and site closures, but they're definitely coming. If anything, I'm expecting Euro zone sites to be hit as-hard or harder than U.S. sites, judging by the hallway chatter. Good luck to all.
