Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Why do ex Intel employees who were laid off come here ?

Why are you not over it ? Move on. Is it that difficult? Why come here and talk rubbish about the company? We all know Intel will do good in the future. Intel has always been the leader in technology with the brightest people working for them..

OP, have you ever been married and divorced? For me this is what the experience reminds me of. You nurture, protect and care for your spouse for many years. You dream that you will both prosper and grow old gracefully together. Then something truly shocking happens. She tells you to go your own way and that she has other plans for her life ... without you!

It shakes you up a bit and makes you question how and why this happened. Was it me? Was it my fault? Am I inadequate in some way? Of course the simplest and least painful way to answer these questions is to blame her and possibly even talk rubbish about her just to validate your "reality" ... or at least try. How would you retain your dignity if you blamed yourself?

Now that the papers are signed, what do you do? You cared enough about her to get married, create some wonderful memories and share life's/work's burdens for so many years. You can't just stop caring so you "drop in" from time to time to check in and see how things are going. You hope she does well but suspect that there's more to all of this than meets the eye and that there are some serious challenges ahead for her. You hope you're wrong, but at the same time, you hope you're right. :)

"Move on" is something that happens over time and yes, it's often very difficult ... unless, of course, you're a completely insensitive narcissist. So let the process be what it is for each individual and let the truth of the matter reveal itself to the world. Don't worry. You have noting to be afraid of OP ... or do you?

This is a must read site for those at still at intel to hear from all that have caught lifeboats off the Titanic.

Feel free to also email me and I shall console those poor souls still on the Titanic as there won't be retirement for those that need more than 5 years. I do pray for your soul, LOL

I think the majority are current employees who just can't stand Circuit anymore

Op it's not just laid off employees. Many current employees are unhappy with the way things are going and they visit here. Just cause you survived this round doesn't mean you will retire from this company at age 70.

Yes - It's not until I found this site that I realized that the dysfunction that I was experiencing at Intel were so widespread.

So many people are just going through the motions at Intel. Acting as if everything is great. That their iMBOs for that quarter matter. That there is a plan.

I'm sure that enough people at Intel have drunk enough kool aid and are otherwise institutionalized not to know better. But so many do. Like a ticking time bomb.

Intel culture discourage you from saying what you think.

From my experience, It may even be dangerous just talking to your coleagues about the state of your org, managers quality and Intel in general.

Being able to talk freely and anonimously just feels great.

"It is so fun to share the real state of affairs of the company, the terrible management talent, the horrible looking future and watch all the irrationally kool aid posts from current Intel employees who soon will have to be collecting unemployment"

You mean that Circuit doesn't provide the real state of affairs? ;)

I have to believe that some of the reviews posted on Glassdoor are HR plants or truly delusional people (You know the people who post that everything is AWESOME at Intel and they have no issues with anything)...

Why come here?

1) To find useful information about the transition (Am I the only one who hasn't gotten a check yet? What's the process for enrolling in COBRA, etc,)

2) To try to make sense of the latest Intel layoff

3) To vent

4) To find out what's going on inside the walls

5) Because my friends who still work at Intel are GLUED to this site because they have no idea whether they'll be next or not

Here you go, some a88-kizzer seems pleading for his job, to make him feel better. Considering he is a dead wood so stuck in some one's a88 getting the protecting is unable to see the light of day. Now mediocrity rules in Intel. Good ones who stood up against the bull-s88hit from so the so call dime a dozen VPs are gone, Intel has seen the worst brain drain never before. It is going down soon and you will too.

OP, these losers will always come back here to vent their anger. This is the only place they can feel food about their selvwa and live in an imaginative land whwew they think Intel will be doomed and that it's OK they were kicked out. Am sure some of them very not fairly treated and don't deserve to be laid off. But then many of these people have failed to tha Intel standards and were let go because they are not good enough. I visit Intel very frequently as they are our customer, and I see most of the people there really smart. The ones that are not, next year I don't see them...

If u still work you fall into two buckets

1). Fully bought in kool-aid drinkers and those aren't here.

2). worried and wondering and hope some insight can be learned from the NOT 1)

3). Ex that are set free and can speak with a new objective.

There are merits to staying at intel as long as you can but honestly if you really understand the business you should be scared really scared.

Those outside may be scared but we can see Intel for what it is and what it may become in a quick short 10nm train wreck of epic carnage, LOL

Hmm, why would a website about layoffs have posts by former employees?

Yeah I just don't get the connection.

Why do current intel come here?

Perhaps worried that their management isn't shooting straight or doesn't have a clue? Worries the ship continues to take water and need to learn what is really going on?

Do you know almost every good ex intel I have seen have gone on to do more at inter companies. Yes some are still unemployed buts u end up very successful, Intel might learn a little and do the right thing if it's insular and arrogant leaders and employees could listen and learn.

Thank you very much, OP for the good wishes. You do recognize that we all here, ex INTEL employees, are doom and gloom, correct?

Good for you. We are gone. So INTEL will shine, right? Keep believing in this, Tooth Fairy and Snow White. And, of course, in BK and Murthy. :-)
