Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Are Intel Values still valid?

With all the new management- Murthy, Amir and Ari - I don't hear much about Intel values. Are they dead? Maybe they should be replace with new ones. If so, what should they be?

Well looks like "constructive confrontation" is gone according to the Circuit article. "Disagree and commit" is the next to go.

These have been deemed values to be replaced by the big brass upstairs:

  1. Transparency ----------------- Replace with ----> by adding following caveat: At the lowest levels; those with grunt worker status. Folks at higher levels need not adhere to this. This way Intel values remain consistent with their actions.. and people can continue to be "S"uccessful at Intel yet tagged for ISP/VSP through arbitrary stock award levels or other secret indicators not known to even FLM or maybe even SLM.

  2. Do the right things right ------------ Replace with ---> by adding following caveat: At the levels below executive staff. Folks at higher levels need not adhere to this. This way Intel values remain consistent with their actions.. and shady collusion with other tech companies can continue, similar to secret agreements not to poach each other's talent in order to keep salaries under control.. although that particular scheme cannot be repeated since they've already been caught.

Just use corporate behavior as your role model. What better example of leadership do you need?

One Value to be observed to climb at Intel even if you are no good. All VPs and Directors - that dime a dozen bench follow this every day : Only one value - asslicking. But they are also good at shuffling who to do each time.

The new values are:

(1) Dignity

(2) Respect

(3) Compassion

Is it correct Mr. Richard Taylor?

I remember when Andy Grove used to stop people randomly and ask them to recite the Intel values.

Intel values we all use to hang on our cubical walls and use to align our achievements to...were gone in 2001. Intel is simply a plain jane corporation now.

Someone told me that: anymore, there is nothing on that card that won't get you fired. Thought it was funny at the time. Guess the truth is stranger than fiction.
