Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

The floodgates for internal job postings appear to be opening.

I was looking for an internal transfer opportunity and had a desire to leave my current group back in April, so I had been looking at jobs online on a regular basis. Then the sh-- hit the fan and everything pretty much froze. Now I'm seeing a significant Increase in job postings.

I'm the OP. I won't be asking my old manager to contribute to my focal.

Wherever you move, it's still going to be Intel.

Why bother?

Focal tool closes late February so that's a good time to make the move. Also better to transfer to a job where the manager already knows you. It's difficult to get the benifit of the doubt from somebody who doesn't know you.

I am a different poster than @HWUAaiu-1tnv , but can confirm this happens. You need to transfer right after FOCAL allocation has completed in like March/April so that you still have enough time in the new group.

What a company, easy to see where this is going when management can't sell to CEO the real needs and the CEO to low IQ to comprehend each divisions real needs. Like the captain of a ship who is totally lost at guiding it.

@1ztj - Which division?

My division has reqs out for virtually everyone who left. Within a few months we will be back to full strength. Of course those will be internal or external people who will take a year to get up to speed and in the end Intel will have spent a fortune - but management doesn't seem to care.

After few months there will be flood of external reqs. Eventually after 2 years Intel will add 12k employees. I hope all VSP/ERP employees hired back to Intel within year so they don't lose long term benefits and enjoy 1 year free vacation from Intel.

It's a good thing. Right now, second level managers and VPs thin the have employees over a barrel and that people will take the abuse. They need to understand that good folks will leave on their own volition if the culture stinks. There are still some good groups at Intel, but I currently don't work in one and I'm getting out of their one way or another. If I have to rake SSL4 to make that happen, then so be it but I'm not a going stand around, let someone kick the sh-- out of me and do nothing about it.
