Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

How many survived engineers leaving?

I know one engineer who survived laid off and quit. I know another who said she was actively seeking new job after surviving as well. I was talking to HR person at interview in some major company, and she mentioned she was just talking to yet another engineer at Intel who wanted to quit, what are the odds of this? Looks like there are many people who survived and still want out. Those of you, who is still at Intel, how many your peers are plain quitting?

I think everyone needs to decide how active they protect their family and future.

I for one always thought I was important and appreciated, but was suddenly kicked to the curb. Went thru lots of emotional swings but learned that after two decades you can't trust anyone as in the end the company is at the mercy of the brilliance or stupidity at the top. One should always have a parachute ready! Your boss and your bosses boss and your coworkers can't save you or help you, watch out for number 1

"None from DCG I know of"

A bunch of key DCG people took ERP. And a bunch of smart people in DCG are looking for jobs outside of Intel.

Intel is a sh*tty place to work, even in DCG. Quality people with the skills and confidence to get a job outside of Intel are looking. Believe me.

Can anyone take VSP if they didn't get email? I am planning to quit , I have a job offer but didn't get any VSP email. So, I want to check if I can still somehow convince manager/HR to put me on the list.

OP: Most former employees of Intel have a minimum standard for constructing grammar. What happened to you?

We all want yo quit even without any package. But just need to get a job offer elsewhere. Internal politics are getting more fierce than ever due to this mass layoff and each and everyone want to save their own a$s. Nearly double my email update frequency and added many more people to the list so that visibility goes higher with no real work done. I just collect stuffs from other and send out status updates on each tool, process issues and excursions etc.

One guy from our group at d1d etch in Oregon is leaving next month. Another guy from Cornell who was supposed to join seems to have accepted offer but did not join yet. May have declined. I think he will not be joining as my manager said last month that he will join in June 1st week...I see lots of negativity and pain all around the process groups. Most of them are out of good sleep, even worse than it was before.

Lots of people want out, they are just waiting for final BU announcements to see if they get a pkg. I predict a sh-tload of people will just quit in the Jul-Sep timeframe. BK and HR really messed up, and I do believe the consequences for the company will be dire indeed.
