Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

VSP and ERP - they underestimated the actual accept rate

I heard VSP estimate was 5 to 10% with the actual number 25%. ERP estimate was 10% with the actual number closer to 40%. I'm glad I'm gone using the ERP route. Source is senior staff in SC.

Yeah - this post is not true. I know for a fact they made just under the 12k mark they were looking for. They'll make up a couple of hundred in efficiency cuts and we'll be good until 2017.

Those numbers are not TMG numbers, but Intel numbers that he stated.

I am sad to say this, but everyone is replaceable. Even the smartest Senior PEs who have contributed vastly to the company and the industry.

If TMG hit such high numbers the corporation overall easily met the 12.5K.

Wow I'm sure lots of organizations are now going to feel some serious pain as some clueless RCG or younger guys gets to fill them big shoes.

Good luck intel, LOL

First level 4 and kicked to the curb, three offers incoming to choose from, all with better people, better future than intel. Oh why oh why did I stay for the yelling by my manager, and even more yelling by my SLM.

So good to be free!

You probably hear about pressure because not all groups are the same. Some groups are below their target. Each group is responsible for meeting its target... if they are below the managers will be encouraged to turn the screws.

There was a webcast held by a TMG VP last week to his org where he provide A.C.T. results:

ISP: 2500

ERP: 6000 eligible - 3000 accept

VSP: 4000 offered - 2000 accept

So that brings the total as of last week to 7500 of 12,000. 4500 short.

Too good to pass up a VSP for a high timer in a dead factory (F11X).

Interviews rolling in.

Good to be free!

I took the ERP really because of the letter from our VP that was very threating. I really did not want to give up my job for a no job. And now from BK...it is time to heal..and all is well at Intel. Really? I mean WTF. So the people who offered VSP and refused are REALLY laughing and feeling more secure than ever?

I still don't understand why my mgr was forcing me to take the VSP and when I didn't he turned around and handed me an ISP as part of the efficiency cut . I heard VSP folks in other groups who did not taking it were not impacted .

If accurate though, why would management have started pressuring people to take VSP/ERP? Maybe the pressure was too successful, just seems like they would only do that if the numbers were too low.

Yes, agree that many would have taken ERP. But people would be reluctant to take vsp given that no pending job offer at hand.

Why would anyone believe that only 10% would take that fat ERP package? In my division I would say it was far greater than 50%.
