Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Salaries @ INTEL USA revealed/published

This is what your managers @ INTEL, my dear friends, don't want you to know. For anything in The World, since these data are making INTEL as the company, where any FOCAL, IMPACT or ACT, you name it, do NOT make any sense. Any sense at all.

Your managers talk to you about Morality, Code Of Conduct, about Loyalty... But they NEVER talk even close about this: salary schema @ INTEL. Why? You get the picture. Why some dead wood manager, who sits all day on the meeting would like to you all, he manages, to let you know how he benefits from your hard work. Yes, the hierarchy should be preserved, but like this... Really???

Let us for now review INTEL salary data, for what these data are worth (all salaries in $$ USD per annum)!

Grade 7: 120K~140K

Grade 8: 135K~170K

Grade 9: 150K~210K

Grade 10: 230K~350K (exec level, equation changes drastically)

Grade 11+: No first hand data.

Do NOT forget, your managers are Grade 9 and 10, and you are 6 or 7, maybe 8. I'll leave to you all to digest, and make up your own minds.

PLEASE, keep the Morale @ INTEL on very high levels, this is actually an AR!

Yep, I verified using online pay tool that this is accurate for total compensation.

$117k base for starting grade 7 sounds right, with 2% starting bonus target. In 2011 it was $103k, so about 2.6% increase per year. This exceeds inflation.

Apb targets aren't increasing as fast as they used to due to focal change in 2012. Before 2012, dollars could equally be put into apb or base, and abp got 3-4x multiplied for free. Now, apb dollars are 3x base, so they are distributed more evenly.

Grade 7: 101,200-117,700$ - it varies when the EE joined. Recent hires at Grade 7 with PhDs and no work experience are offered 117,700$ plus $2,354 APB(multiplier not mentioned at the time of offer)..

These numbers are available to any manager

Could anybody share ranges for Poland?

It seems close to what several others have posted, especially at higher grades (>9). While some companies might pay similarly, at higher grades most companies will pay you a lot less. There is no way a PE in most large companies to make what a grade 10 makes, if these number are correct.

What stage do we get a raise and switched to higher grade ...when we move into a higher-grade job ?

Maybe this is San Fran or SC data. Otherwise it is way too high, not what we see in AZ/NM/TX or even OR.

You low paid read and weep they look about right but don't include the RSU and the fact that EB multiplier can make the GR9-12 really pop.

Intel pays well, but only if you are high grade,

Not to worry other companies do pay equally well and some even better

These salary ranges appear to be on the high side. What's listed as GR7 is really what GR8 is. listed GR8 is really what GR9 is, etc.

OP here. Time to sleep, tomorrow will be long day @ INTEL. Lot of technical work to be done, but not sure if I am motivated enough, since I am Grade 6, and fall below these numbers.

Please, spread the word around. You all should (insiders and outsiders) know the basics, how better to negotiate your position with the "masters" (Grade 9 and 10).

Good nite, sleep well.

G5 is around 70K-100K and G6 around 90K-120K I think. At one point the ranges for all grades was available to everyone but they removed that info a few years ago.

Salary equation has changed a lot at Intel. 10 years back base salary is less. Recent joinies(experienced or college grad) get a higher base but less total benefits because of inflation and competition range... But because our base salary is only one that increases linearly from focal. Hence it may complicate each individual's math on W2. But for all Statistical purposes, these numbers seems fall very close to arthematic mean of total comensation of all Intel employees at specific grade level not taking geo differntial into consideration

Grade 7 electrical engineer here, my t-comp is $120k, my salary is $100k. I'm in AZ.

I haven't looked in a while, but I think there's a tool in Circut somewhere that says what the min, max and average salary is for whatever grade level you're at.

For example the pay range for a G9 in HR is significantly lower than a G9 Engineer which is significantly lower than a G9 Attorney.

OP is talking here about Engineer Grades salaries. To add to it: HR KNOWS these salaries. Talking about concrete individuals, not ranges. No wonder why HR dudes are mad. Desperate Housewives got EGO inflated over the years.

Yeah, these numbers are wrong. Also, salary is dependent on job code. For example the pay range for a G9 in HR is significantly lower than a G9 Engineer which is significantly lower than a G9 Attorney.

Just ask your manager to show you. There's no rule against that. I've shown my direct reports before.

Um, OP said salaries... what is your base salary before total comp?

by

Post ID: @eqq+HVQK9O2

Um, Grade 8 software engineer here at $210k total comp. OP is not accurate, those numbers may be right for some job roles, like HR.

This data was taken from another post, but as anyone who works/worked at intel knows, it's not just the base but the total compensation (bonuses) that matter, esp at the higher grade levels. This data isn't clear if its base salary or w-2 numbers being reported.
