It started out. Another explanation of the virtuous circle. I mean how many more ways can you describe 4 ovals and 4 arrows. Then we were into it - the full explanation behind ACT. My heart started racing at the prospect that the ultimate strategy would be revealed for us minions to digest. Then it was announced MCM had been wanting to do this for years but didn't know how to execute it. I mean FFS how hard is to fire people: so hard they needed to hire Murthy for $25m. After describing that the business was in such a bad state that whatever they did couldn't make it worse they decided to pull the trigger. But wait MCM didn't tell the lower layers of management that this isn't a good focal cycle to give your mates rsu and keep the nerdy hardworking engineers down. I mean who the f--- is going to do the work now! You could practically read BK mind as he mentally revisited his inbox at the end of April. Knowing now that priceless knowledge had left Intel for good. Anyway at least after these series of f--- ups we are left with a company of high performers. That was the illusion until BK asked for questions from the floor ....

I agree with the last poster. I also wondered if he is honest or clueless? He said no more ISPs. Of cours, he added "company-wide". Whatever that means? The summary write up about the forum also repeated ISPs unlikely. I heard from multiple very credible sources (SLM, FLM) that there are layoffs this week and next week in th US. Some of them have been planned since the beginning of June. So my question is was he intentionally misleading? Or does he have no clue what is going on in his company.
Want to check if BK is honest and has a clue?
Ask him how long can Moore's Law continue.
After he says no end about the fable of the rice doubling for every square on a checkerboard.
Moore's law is dead and management can t come to grips and identify a strategy for its end.
You tell me how anyone under 50 can feel comfortable working at this company!
"I mean how many more ways can you describe 4 ovals and 4 arrows." This line made my day.. hahaha.. rofl.
Sorry Las posting was meant for ole not op
It's nice to know OP had McDonald's, in n out, WalMart, and target all knocking at his door once he became a free agent. So guys dont worry..there is life after intel
Well I was let go, my group was in shock. I am so happy, I got so many companies chomping to hire me. Thanks BK for the ultimate f--- up. I was so stupid to want to sit on my hand and bust my butt on the sinking ship. I am now set free and find my true value in a new adventure due to your stupid people management, but I do thank you for being so stupid.
I hope ya'll have a plan when this titanic starts taking on more and more water!! We've definitely hit the ice berg. Could take a few years but it's doing down somehow, maybe when it splits up it will create a foundry business and a design company. Many people will go overboard. Don't be last to to lifeboats.
OP - That was the gist of it, excellent summary!
Makes no sense, I would guess intel has about 10% yearly attrition, so 12k headcount reduction could be achieved by a hiring freeze.
I heard when Murthy joined he was salivating at the thought of firing so many people.
It was such a sad spectacle to watch and hear this "visionary" not giving a single straight answer to any of the questions that were asked. Even his own employee comms person challenged his answers. Intel is in really bad hands at this point.
" Then it was announced MCM had been wanting to do this for years but didn't know how to execute it."
They still didn't know how to execute it. Well at least.
They were waiting for Andy to die.
Anyone with half of a brain knows BK is in over his head. Sez alot about how clueless the Board of Directors are.
