More redundancies coming Montrose/Dundee ????

I've heard a rumour from a good source that the field service engineers are going to get hit hard with redundancies again soon because of the work coming to an end in China.

It's inevitable, China will be finishing around now, (info from an I & c manager) and the 30 or so lads engaged out there will be brought back to a under deployed sh-- squad. Good luck everyone

Don't stress about it buddy more people are going to be in your situation soon. All the managers won't keep their jobs it's just a matter of time.

The policy makers, and managers, that implement the policies, are dispicable people who wil receive their comeuppance. The industry has taken me back 20 years

Makes me wonder if it's worth staying with Nov with the contract changes. It's not a well paid job considering what we have to do. Going to Kuwait and Nigeria for less money when the chosen ones have a cushy number in China, though the prospect of lung cancer with the air quality over there is something they have to look forward to. If I'm honest I wish everyone well but we aren't friends we are in competition with each other and I seriously hope the smug ones in China get a taste of what the rest of us have to go through. Maybe I sound bitter hell f---ing yeh I am ha ha ha ha.

I just went through the Dundee UK process and subsequently made redundant I don't write this with any hard feelings I'm simply stating the flaws in the UK process and a few other poorly managed points. My heart felt sympathy to those guys who have to do the job with this hanging over their head again and the BS service contract they were basically forced to agree to.

If you ain't in the Mitchelin or Dundee Mafia your screwed!!! (Just an opinion)

When carrying out the scoring in last session guys were being informed they were safe before the consultation period had began.

Comments don't match scoring criteria and are scripted to suit the scores....if I could attach a photo I would just to give all concerned an idea of BS being flung about.

Considering the Dundee office staff cost over 3million a year in wages and then one branch of service guys cost over 2million, (reliable source via HR spreadsheet), massive data protection Fuk up that wasn't admitted or apologised for, and the fact that there are less service hands and jobs to manage next round should be interesting.

I dread to see what happens now China is down scaling bodies on site and China have their own IC boys to look after, and the massive lack of adhoc service work. What I will say in my time with NOV I never met a bad NOV workmate from any country a few f---ing lazy ones but no one I would say I couldn't work with or try to work with if they would get off their arse. Anyway lads all the best in the next round just hope senior management do the service pools justice this time because the last 2 have been a shambles.

There are around 30 engineers in China, when the work out there does come to an end, they will be drafted back into the service team, the lads who have been ad hoc in service for all these years will be pushed out and the charmed ones will get their jobs, the harsh reality?!
