2015 ISP. Got a new job with a better manager and way less working hours. The level of stress is also much lower since the people at my new company are all about collaborating and getting stuff done fast vs. sitting in endless 1:1s and meetings. Meeting times are no more than 5-8 hours a week, vs. 20+ hours a week at Intel. You get to spend the remaining time getting work done, instead of working 100+ hour weeks in order to compensate for the useless meetings. Recognition is much higher (in verbal and $ terms) than at Intel where you really had to butter people up and persuade them to reward you. I no longer feel like a slave who is taken for granted like I did when I was at Intel, except I was too blind to see it, I thought this was just how it always is. Glad I'm out.
Intel is not a healthy work environment by any stretch of the imagination. It is a slave factory ( the IC=slave ) run by a bunch of conniving, overzealous, snobby, corporate heretics, aka "manager".
Been gone for 2.5 years now, so happy I don't have to take orders from a creepy Indian grandma and don't have to help some obnoxius Indian chick with excel. I didn't like those two at all, but everyone else was decent.

I agree. 2 1/2 years ago I retired. Its my natural state. Not working at Intel.

I left Intel a few years ago after working there for 10 years.
I wonder why I stayed so long?
Life is so much better when you have sane working conditions, competent managers and a realizable path for career growth and fulfillment.
I browse the board here as I have many friends still left at Intel. I hope they can get out before the declines start snowballing into even worse conditions. I have zero confidence in Intel's management and strategy going forward. It reminds me of RIMM or other similar companies just after their peak. It's going to get a lot uglier.
