Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Brian Kraznich, care to read this?

Murthy and you spelled out the work force reduction policy. Fine...it is at will employment. I am hearing cases of a substantial number of ISPs getting reversed, seemingly based on who you know. Mine was denied even though like many others it was first time low level stock. Just because they moved to a new group, does it mean ISP criteria is not valid. Do you guys not see that something wrong is going on beneath your noses?

@dbg so I guess you don't have a wife or daughter in the workforce. You think you lost your job 'because women'? What a turd. Glad you got flushed.

F*** Intel, everyone who is gone or leaving is better off. After almost three decades I can't begin to tell you all what a refreshing change it is to not put up with the BS under leaders like BK any more. I enjoyed the work, but Andy is long gone and the ASSWIPE management style that's promoted from the top down since his departure is disgusting. It's all about pleasing the whining who can't make the actual qualified selection process without actually eliminating the competent competition. So much for meritocracy Intel. That's right, this is about the women who have gotten your jobs solely because of your gender along with the 'silver bullet' candidates who need the opportunity of not competing with the entire pool of eligible qualified candidates to get a job. What, can it be that only women get targeted and interviewed for jobs because of their anatomy? Wait, that can't possibly be true, can it? The rest of the employees who have to deal with these lesser qualified workers pay the price making up the difference, and obviously so does the quality and productivity of the company as a whole. SO MANY incompetent people being hired to fulfill this BS diversity and equality crap, particularly the gender. How does someone with any intelligence and ANY pride accept a position under those circumstances? Oh, that's right, it's owed to them for being suppressed. Yeah, that's it.

Thinks about it! The chickens are coming home to roost! USA goes all over the place, destroying lives. Who voted for the leadership? USA supporting criminal heads of states and intervening in foreign economies. You elected these scum! Now you taste the deeds of the scum you elected into power! When will we realise that everyone in the world want to live a life of dignity. Stop supporting and electing scum that destroys lives in foreign lands. Then you wont have scum to bamboozle you in your own land! Please google Multi-national corporations and their loyalties.

I don't understand why people here allow themselves to be so judgmental and cruel . It is not nice to get fired, even if you are good at what you do and will find a new job easily. We all know that very good workers were kicked out because of bad managers and politics. Please control your words and show some sympathy , tomorrow you will be thrown out.

@mkh: You are a very smart person. If you had decided to appeal, more than likely you would have been successful with that appeal. But I agree with you, why stay at a dysfunctional company like Intel. Definitely a good choice to take the severance package and find a better company to work for.

I was ISP'd under dubious circumstances: my manager said that she gave me S/SSL4 because I am a new employee (which I was).

No way that I was going through the kangaroo court of appealing. Happy to take my severance and find a better, less dysfunctional employer.

That said, I have zero faith that the appeals process would be either rigorous or consistent across groups and chains-of-command. No more so than the stock rating and other criteria that were used to establish it.

Intel senior leadership has to know this and that they took this approach shows that they really don't value their employees or give a sh*t that good people are being thrown out and banned from ever working for Intel again.

Which just reinforces that I'm really not sad to be paid to go find another (better) job.

At one point in my youth, the county in which we lived thinned their bloated disability rolls by kicking EVERYONE off of disability. They figured that the legitimate cases would readily win their appeals. It was a means of culling a herd that'd been acquired over many years by having a limited number of people applying the current set of standards.

It's likely that Intel knew full well that the net they were casting was a bit too wide - but that those special cases could be successfully appealed. Sometimes this method is intentional. It's more efficient to remove a few fish from the net at the end than to figure out how to not ensnare them in the first place.

Rather like the approach taken at the Massacre at Beziers in 1209, when the crusaders couldn't distinguish the Catholics from the heretics. "Caedite eos. Novit enim Dominus qui sun eius." ("Kill them [all]. For the Lord knows those that are His own.")

ISPs DID get reversed for a few. ssl4 discussed with managers and reversed. Others appeals got simply rejected at the door although FLM says by ssl4 they didn't mean bad performance. There is bias. That's not fair. Such cases should be exposed and the process must be made transparent. Otherwise, we're just a 3rd world country in disguise.

Uml, if you think ing some isp reversals are not happening and just rumours, you are smoking something really vile....

Ujx, You still don't get it. There is no accident. There would be some collateral damage. Those reverses are mostly rumors. I just state what I believe to be the truth other than suggest what people should do.

Tps, mtl you are not getting the point. Nobody is saying why did you cut me or take me back. I have no interest in coming back. Point is about system being gamed. Hopefully you see the point

Totally agree with klw's post below. It may sound brutal but the truth is ppl want their ISPs reversed as they know they can not easily get job outside and working back to Intel is much easier than adjusting to new job elsewhere.

You feel unfair and injust, and wish some one powerful hear your grievance. But you have to understand you are cut by design - not an accident. You might be considered a collateral damage at best. No one In intel management especially those on the top care about fairness. The only way you can make them reverse decision is to convince them firing you would be illegal in your particular case.

Complain is not about being let go...it is the rules that get broken. Don't need to prove anything to anybody by the way....In any case, doesn't look like your mama taught you not to curse

I would like to give him benefit of doubt since he may not know how some managers are gaming the system but looks like he is ignorant of this double dealing. However, as an executive you cannot claim ignorance and look the other way, can you?
