Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Message from Diane Bryant to lovely INTEL layoff crowd ❤️

I am sure your mother would be proud of you if she saw this! So sad! I usually don't answer haters and very rarely look at thelayoff.com, however behavior like this, bullying, as well as INTEL threats have become more and more "normal" in today's world. It's easy to hide behind a screen and write abuse to others. At this point I have grown pretty immune to haters, but there are a lot of people out there who are being called names worse than this every day, and they don't have the same voice, to be able to speak up or fight back.. So let's STOP bullying!! Let's help build each other up, tell your friends and family today that you love them and care for them! Give a stranger a compliment, smile! It's the small things! You never know what kind of day they have had unless you have walked a mile in their shoes, and even the smallest encouragement and compliment can mean the world and make someone's day! That's all! Have a beautiful and blessed day everyone.

I love you all too! ❤️

Yours Truly,

Diane Bryant (future INTEL CEO)

Uh, no. I'm certainly not Diane. Just a mid-50s caucasian male engineer whi knows he's next on the chopping block. I dont know Diane. Didn't know Kurt either, but they are the only 2 execs recently who have impressed me as having a clue. I don't know if Kurt left because he didn't want to be a part of this or if he was just one more in tbe string of execs who didn't fix mobile in 18 months and then left to "persue other interests" or "spend more time with family". I don't fault Diane for doing her job. Layoffs suck, every company has them. Intel has avoided mass layoffs for a long time. Most managers I know are pretty distressed about the who!e process. I'm sure there are some sociopathic ones out there that take perverse pleasure in it. Maybe I'm naive but in experience they are the exception. That being said, I'm not a newbie nor have i spent my entire career here. I'm on engineering side though, so have no insight into TMG.

Diane Bryant has succeeded based on her predecessor, the growth of big data (nothing to do with her or Intel) and the monopoly that Intel holds (~96-7%) of data center servers.

From her ill-fated investments in big data "platforms" (whatever those are) like Discovery Peak / TAP, her health care boondoggle, the goat rodeo that is Intel Fed LLC and losing a bunch of big supercomputing deals to IBM, her overall performance has been mediocre at best.

She's only - ever - worked at Intel. And it shows.

Well, Diane and Kurt are the only 2 of our leaders who have seemed to have a clue as to their businesses in the last couple of years. Out of the field of internal candidates, i hope shes the next CEO. BK has failednon everything he's tried. Murthy failed at QC, dont see how he can succeed here.

She's a VP and will do what the business needs and what she is told. I assume the 'please stay' was off message and needed to be corrected. I also assume she wouldn't sign "future CEO".

As to NEVER hurting employees, I didnt say that, so not sure its addressed to me, but the company is downsizing, its her job to lay people off. She can either do it or quit. People will still be gone either way.

2bxt here again, previous post referred to the VSP memo, not the obviously BS opening post

@mmp here again. You seems to like Diane. Indeed, she is one very lovely, caring woman, and some idiots/haters from INTEL HR back-stabbed here misusing/abusing her name.

"Diane would NEVER hurt hard working employees". Tell me more about this, please (are you just naive, plain stupid, or on some cheap drugs)? ;-)

At her QGS Diane said she hoped VSP and ERP folks would stay. I'm guessing HR wrote this, and since its very close to the one people in my group got, I'd further guess its a corporate message.

I doubt Dianne wrote that. Most likely one of her HR flunkies.

_Additional Information on the Voluntary Separation Program Mon 5/9/2016 4:31 PM

A message from Diane Bryant

Additional Information on the Voluntary Separation Program

You were recently informed that you are eligible for the Voluntary Separation Program (VSP). As you seriously consider the effect want to provide information to help you make an informed decision.

Employees choosing VSP are paid through June 24, 2016, plus a 02 QBP cash equivalent. If you decide to stop working earlier, you will still be paid through June 24th.

The VSP package is 8 weeks' pay plus additional weeks for years of service. The payouts range from 15 weeks for 4 years' service, to 56 weeks for 30 years service. Please note that weeks of pay is calculated using your base salary plus the APB target, so the payout may be bigger than you think. You also have a choice of 6 months' paid medical coverage plus $9K each or 12 months' coverage.

The VSP includes outplacement services which include personalized job leads, career counselling, resume guidance and social media profile building. We will hold onsite forums soon In recent years 85% of Intel employees using the service found jobs, so please consider attending one of the forums.

The VSP packages are market leading and the highest offer by Intel in the past several years. When ACT ends, we will return to normalized packages which will be significantly lower than those currently on offer.

We will achieve the ACT targets through a combination of Voluntary and involuntary programs, protect cancellations and efficiency programs. If we don't meet our targets, we will take follow on actions, including involuntary headcount reductions. Those impacted by these follow-on actions may not receive packages comparable to the ones currently on offer.

The majority of employees impacted will be notified by June 29th, except for those countries outside of the U.S. which regime a longer legal notification process.

We will continue to manage lower performers each year.

The VSP is an opportunity to know where you stand regarding your future at Intel and determine if joining another company is a good option. We strongly recommend you discuss with your manager their assessment of your skills, capabilities, and career prospects so that you can make a fully informed decision before the VSP window closes on June 2nd._
