Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Can any former Intel employees comment on the success of the services provided by the outplacement company, Lee Hecht Harrison?

LHH is a good coach, but even the best coach can't get you the job. You need go get out there!

If you are good, you can do it yourself, but don't wast the opportunity. Beside intel is paying, get them to pay a little more for you, stick it to them one last time!

My wife was laid off a few years ago and they seem to be pretty squared away. Especially for HR type folks.

They reviewed my resume and cover letter with very good comments. I am not taking full advantage of all they offer, e.g., classes, webinars, etc. I uploaded my resume on their website and received a call from a big name company for an exploratory conversation. I declined the conversation because the job required relocation which is not an option for me. I have received notifications about events at their office to meet with recruiters who are interested specifically in former Intel employees. Agree with @pto, it is up to you how much you want to get out of it.

I can attest that LHH has people equally capable of a reply all as at intel!

Well, they are not recruiters. But they did help me a lot in reviewing my resume and preparing me for interviews - got both offers for the two onsites I gave!

I would advice to attend one of theirs resume writting and Interviewing onsite classes. You learn a lot and Its good networking opportunity too!

They are not recruiters but provide knowledge about your job search, including how to work with recruiters, so that you can be successful in your job search. Just started recently with them and found their webinars, career coach service, and resources very useful so far.

As with anything in life, you get out of it what you put into it. I have just started looking into their offerings myself.
