I know of three people that have killed themselves in the last six months (Two FM, 1 SC). To quote The Shining, this inhuman place makes human monsters. Anyone have any knowledge of this in their spaces, God forbid..? We need to blow the f---ing lid off of how this place treats their people; lives hang in the balance, and there is innocent blood on the hands of the Board and their wh--epuppet CEO.

Should have a strike at intel. none should work as europian unions. today my friend suicide. tomorrow maybe you, maybe your friend wil suicide. should stop Murthy BK playing with our lives. American people are afraid to do strikes for their rights. why that? we should be an union to have one voice for all of us. BK Murthy are making big money from the company as none of them has loyality to the company.
Why can't we do anything about this horrible work environment? We are all voicing the same issues - toxic, no value add, back stabbing managers (politicians) combined with a horrible performance system over the years have created this leper colony. Is it too late? Why are we letting some kiss ass low talent, no value mid managers/VPs destroy our lives? We should all collectively do something about this. please comment/provide suggestions.

I want to believe that we have the power to improve our collective situation and seek justice for those that have passed in the wake of such needless adversity. Whether or not it happens through the conversation that we're sharing right now is immaterial. To me, it is not just about making enough money to peace the f--- out, as had been suggested in earlier responses (I respectfully hear your opinion and understand your viewpoint, but that's just not who I am as a person). We are better than this. They are better than this. As a poster said a few rows down, think of the visibility Amazon got for a guy furiously rambling to a coworker in the john. And thank you to all who have shared their experiences thus far. Let's see where this goes.

Isn't there therapy or counseling services being offered on the ACT website? I think those are intended for both folks who leave and folks who stay. My job wasn't directly impacted by ISP or VSP but I can tell you that the actions last year and what's happening right now is taking a tremendous emotional toll. I'm not sure if I can tough it out. I don't even have the energy to look for another job.
I was layed off last july. Single, but with friends I could talk to so it never got terrible. But you're right. My last day was a Wednesday. I got home after leaving work, and never left the house until Monday. And it realistically it took a couple of months to get back to my old self. After almost 28 years at intel the ISP last year was a bit of a shock.
Now retired and loving it.
And last year was different. When you got the ISP you were not frog marched out the door. I walked out the door for the last time with a coworker not security. I still have my badge. In fact, after I walked out the door I went to the recipient center and worked out one last time.
I really feel for the people whose whole careers have been at Intel...and they were discarded like worthless bums via ISP. There are a whole array of emotions associated with such a change: fear, anger, uncertainty, rage, depression, hopelessness, etc.
No matter how bad things seem, suicide isn't the answer!
If you're feeling down, go talk to someone. Or go fishing. Or go for a walk in the woods. Or get a job with a competitor. Do whatever!
Life is too short to dwell...find the next chapter and make it fulfilling!
Indeed house of horror. I am happy as well and I don't feel bad for what the leftover backstabbers going through right now. They deserve it. Every single one of them.

If you are ISPed and you are single with no friends, it's really hard for first 2-3 days. But if you have a family/friends who can mentally support ISP is a relief of pain. That happened to me and I felt happier than ever because I knew I am more capable than those leftover who were originally responsible and played a dirty politics. Now out of the Intel Horror House and happy, happy and happy!!!!
A guy traveled to RA from FM died in a phone booth in RA back in March. Even ERT didn't know how to proceed. Very tragic ending.
@nka blaming wall street is, like always, shortsighted. There are deeper issues around, propping up the stock price isn't even on the radar. Note that the stock basically hasn't moved in the last 6 months, and ACT had no impact on it (nor would I expect it to).
There are more casualties @ Folsom. Someone came in to office on a weekend and shot himself in his office. Another person did the same in the parking lot. This was a little over a yr ago.
Amazon's mistreatment of employees featured in news is nothing compared to what Intel employees go through on a daily basis with the bullying culture, unrealistic high expectations, toxic, mentally and physically torturous environment at Intel .
Corruption of pay off to keep their image clean in the public eye. I laughed when Intel won best award for being Ethical Company when it encourages it's employees to be unethical because HR turns blind eye on it with their rigged ODIs.
Let's open this lid on Intel. Voice here what you encountered. Only way to fix it is publicly expose Intel. Anonymously ofcourse to protect yourself with IP address hidden, whether on phone or a computer. Let a class lawsuits follow.
Being VSPed was very hard for me to accept. I am glad my family was there to support me. I feel for those who got ISP despite 20+ years. Please please please do not take it personally. This is the wall street game. Has nothing to do with your performance. I would go to competition and live a life with further success and not give a sh-- to those packages. Be grateful of your families. Snug closer to them. They will be there for you wherever you go, whatever happens. I am a VSPer with 10+ years of service. I am not working for these VPs. I am working for myself. To increase my skills. So i dont give a sh-- to what has been said to us.

Intel will take as much as you are willing to give it. The real trick is learning how to not fall into the many traps that freckle the landscape we operate within on a day-to-day basis. To the psyches of the poor unfortunate souls that Mother Intel has left her indelible fingerprint on, I encourage you to scout out the Berns/Smithers BK/Murthy memes on here. They are cheerful and absolutely delicious.
Nobody has to suffer, just walk away. Get a job at Whole Foods, teach elementary school. You have options, all of us have a ton of education and skill. Need more money? Tough luck - gotta be able to handle all the heat...
Why people decide to stick around when suffering? I do not get part.
I understand depression, but is any company worth that much grief? You have to learn a word NO!. Work late take a day off. I take personal days constantly. My family is important not a company.

OP, the whole thing INTEL Inside is spoiled, rotten, and full of mental booby traps. Last 10 years the company got into the state: "no way out".
I got burnt in INTEL, worked like crazy for years, but other people (managers' and directors' pets) got the credits for my and others hard work. You have once to stop, open very wide your eyes and look around (what is going on). If you do NOT do this, you might finish very badly (as these poor people, who went too far blindly).
INTEL is horror house, I agree. But this is all about it. You are not going to fight with behemoth, are you? You'll loose this legal battle, for many reasons.
The real action is the following: get maximum amount of $$$ out of this situation, and move on with your career. INTEL is not the Alpha and Omega of your or anybody's life, just a passing station. :-)
Suicide 2 months ago of a Hillsboro employee of 20+ years. Let go by ISP last year and feel into a deep depression....never recovered. Was at least a successful employee. Not sure about the stock level. Took his own life just short of 1 year from the date he was let go and told 'you are not employable by Intel ever again'. Brutal.
Unfortunately, quite sane.
