I wish I had your optimism 1bhy. EDMC is perfectly capable of ordering millions of dollars worth of stuff only to sell it again (at a loss). Anyone remember the college in Hartford, CT that AI sunk millions into, new equipment, new furniture, permits, even a new elevator - only to abandon it in 2014? As others have remarked on this site before, one hand often has no idea what the other hand is doing.
In 2 weeks rumour is significant layoffs. No way are they closing though. I know for a fact that they recently began ordering over a million in equipment. No way they would put out that kind of money if something like that was planned.
