Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Intel's XPoint emperor has no clothes, only soiled diapers

Opinion Intel's XPoint marketing is such frenetic, hype-filled BS that it is setting up the world to be utterly underwhelmed by the reality.

Another boondoggle?

Color me surprised...

The problem starts with the non-technical board. They are not competent to direct Intel so you end up with a manufacturing guy trying to run a company where what is needed is a product-oriented CEO. That is not and never will be BK. A lot of the senior management now is non-technical. They can't make the correct business decisions because of their lack of technical knowledge ...Plus horizontal groups like HR and IT never even try to understand the internal business groups they serve. It is a joke...

NSG is one of the worst Intel departments to work for. Bunch of corrupt idiots in management.

3DNAND and IoT are pure conmodity plays where intel expertise has no moat of protection for margins. Not sure what emperor stood up to the board with, maybe just got down on his knees with no clothes.

X86 and server are under siege from the billion ARMs that has fed Samsung and TSMC rise manufacturers. While ARM and a legion of cheaper designs have emerged. King is naked and is fiefdom is paying for his small thing

Intel needs to do a 2nd round of cuts and eliminate the 'dead wood' in management and HR. Finance is a bit bloated too.

I work on 3DXP memory. It is Intel who created this marketing hype and presented deliberately manipulated facts. Intel also exaggerated about when this memory will appear in market. Something wrong with this rotten Intel culture and poorly trained executives who live in the world of fantasy which is far far away from the facts. I worked on both side and I do not see Micron Technology uses such overhyped and unrealistic practices. Micron has always been honest about it. Durcan continued saying the expected timeline when it can be manufacturable and Micron remained silent as it did not want to kick assof such smartass partner in business. Suddenly this partner turned into a competitior starting NAND manufacturing in china using technology jointly developed. Micron is now cautious about this backstabber partner cum comoetitior. It's all about dead Intel culture and save their own asskind of attitude.
