It seems that the VSP criteria, time in grade one standard deviation higher than the mean, will wind up only keeping managers that claim credit for themselves. I've seen a lot of good managers who took ERP/ISP because their other choice would have been a worse package when their VSP turned into ISP. These were the managers who kept their head down and worked on developing their team. That data doesn't show up in the HR spreadsheet formulas. As a result, the remaining managers will continue to focus on jockeying for the spotlight at the detriment to the rest of the team. Won't be surprised if the IAA gets renamed back to Individual Achievement Award.
