"They are the people who got ISP or took VSP or ERP, sir" replied Waylon "Murthy" Smithers.
"WHAT? How is that possible? I got rid of these drooling nincompoops for their lousy performance! said Burns, "so why do those fools think they should get unemployment?"
"Well, Sir," replied Smithers, "the state disagrees. They said you misused your own focal process to wrongly terminate people with ISP."
"So what? I wanted them gone, especially the older ones. Isn't that enough? Besides, the VSP and ERP people had a CHOICE" shouted BK Burns, pounding the table.
Murthy cowered behind a solid gold statue of BK made of the pension benefits of wrongfully terminated employees, "well, sir, remember the 2nd VSP letter you ordered your VP's and directors to send? The one you tried to keep people from forwarding? The one where you threatened employees and told them if they didn't leave on they're own, you would fire them anyway. "
"Yes you idiot, that was the plan!" yelled "BK" Burns. "I wanted them gone, Gone, GONE!"
"Well, Sir, the state says being told to quit or get fired isn't much of a choice, and therefore they get unemployment."
"That's the biggest load of crap I have ever heard!" shouted Burns. Burns wrung his hands in exasperation, the dry skin throwing off a shower of die killing defects. "Smithers," spat Burns, "you tell those idiots in the statehouse that they won't get any more campaign contributions from me!"
"Yes, Mr. Burns."
"And Smithers....."
