Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

You can pay my to perform tasks but you can't buy my heart.

I'm operating as a contractor now. No more innovation or suggestions. I just sit in meetings waiting for task assignments. I couldn't care less about if it's the right thing to do. I just implement as instructed. Funny thing is I think my manager prefers it that way and to tell you the truth so do I. Innovation is left to my personal projects where I can make a real difference.

There isn't any difference between BB and GB apart from GBs being costly

I'm still an employee, but I have no idea what my job is anymore. I have no MBOs. Management ignores me. I'm doing work that could easily be done by someone with less experience. When I ask what the end game is, I get silence. I keep expecting to be cut, but it hasn't happened yet. I don't get it. Never had a performance issue. In a senior role. Been this way for months. I have never experienced anything like it. Such a waste. It just makes no sense. Everyone around me who has observed what's going on is as baffled as I am. I'm not lazy or looking for a free ride. I enjoy work and want to contribute. It's humiliating to be pushed aside. I see so much unethical behavior among our most senior people. Corruption and cronyism all over the place. It's hard to find executives who are worthy of respect. It's all very sad. Intel was once a great company. I hope it will be again, but it's hard to imagine how they will get there from here.

Drama queens. It's called capitalism, not loyalty, love, long-term relationship......it's just a job

Me too...I consider myself a salaried contractor. I do what is required. I leave work at work now so much that if I take a week vacation, I really need to think hard to remember what all I was doing before going on vacation. It doesn't bother me if Intel shuts its door tomorrow. It was very different a couple of years back..

Treat them exactly like they treat you. Look into building your own company as they will walk you out as soon as you reach Intel age limit.

I used to bleed intel blue worked because I loved it, loved the company, worked weekends, on vacations, delayed my sabbatical. They kicked me to the curb because one level 4 in 20+ years. You are nothing but a beast of burden to this company whether a technician or a VP.
