Thread regarding Seagate Technology Inc. layoffs

The scale of layoff in June '16 will be extremely smaller than you think. However, I am not sure if there is going to be more down the road.

September again? It is not good. Springtown was started. BBC announced it. Why does company make it longer? Shorter is better and earlier is also better.

Next layoff date is rumoured to be September. Who really cares, people's attitudes are irreversibly damaged from being treated like crap. Anyone who can will jump ship.

Wonder if WD is laying off ? Seagate doesn't usually do anything with out checking with them first. Lol

You can extrapolate the numbers - look at the article below, there are many examples but here is a quick one... In short, Autodesk cut 925 jobs and took a $95M pre-tax charge, that boils down to roughly 100K per employee... There is a thread on this site about the same topic for EMC - here is the link @FLLNTml

Feb 3 AutoCAD software maker Autodesk Inc said it would cut about 925 jobs, or 10 percent of its workforce, in the near term as part of a restructuring plan to accelerate transition to its cloud business.

The company said it anticipated pre-tax charges of $85 million-$95 million related to the restructuring. (Reporting by Kshitiz Goliya in Bengaluru; Editing by Maju Samuel)

150M will give you about 1000 folks at 150K per head - that's the average...

Actually even less than 3000 since there's vacation payout and package money that would need to be figured in.

Will if you took an average payoff of. $50k per employee, that would be about 3000 employees which is probably about 10% worldwide

If so, then what's the $150 mill one time expense for? $150 mill is a lot of layoffs, IF that is what its all for.
