The first step to recovery is just to admit that you have a skill set problem, versus it being an indian/asian stealing your job problem.
Once you get past that first step, things get much easier.

ah, The Indian OP posting his mind... You see, you guys blame the Americans for lack of skills and believes that is the reason so many are loosing their jobs. On the same token you guys think you are very well prepared and the main reason Indians H1B's are flooding the market.
The sad reality is neither, basically the greedy corporations are using the non-American workforce as a disposable media(same as they did 200 years ago with slaves) were here is plenty of supply and they will just keep re-cycling you guys for a good time whole making 2-3x on cost of operations savings.
Once they are done with you guys, they will shift to another market, maybe Africa, East asia,..etc but you guys will become history .
here is the deal, when that happens, Americans will have already move on but you guys will need to go back home to your country were will still be a 3rd world country and very rotten since you guys have opted to make yourselves rich versus be working on it RIGHT NOW making your country great.
This was top driven by those who know NOTHING ZERO ZILCH NADA about what it takes to operate the factories. The most talented, multi-skilled and resourceful people I have ever known are gone or leaving soon. They are taking decades of wisdom with them.

The most recent RCG/RTG's we've had were HORRID. They had no work ethic, no motivation and just expected to be worshipped like some kind of annointed gods. Pathetic, they were.
Our department manager will have nobody left to staff the shifts properly. In CS, we have to run the utilities 24/7, no exceptions, EVER. We still have to meet minimum regulatory requirements, else face federal/state penalties. I wonder if BK and his goon squad even know that, or even care in the slightest.
I pray that these cuts will not impact safety, but I fear it will. We've been bred into a "get it done no matter what" mentality.
BTW, nowadays, in certain field, burying your under a pile of books would not do the job of "keep their skills fresh and up to date". we all know that best way to learn is to use it. But did most of us get the chance ?
Whose fault is it when your skills are only Intel-specific? Have you no concept of the real world? Engineers need to constantly keep their skills fresh and up to date.
It's your own responsibility to manage your career. You should have realized that doing the same thing over and over again at Intel was not the best career choice.

OP is obviously either stupid or has no clue. So everyone got fired for lacking certain skills. Hmm ok, as your manager do you prefer I assign you a task based on your skills or do you want me to give you a high visibility task and set a hard deadline? Do you think you know it all? I warn you I can always find something I'm not happy about.
It's not a skill set problem in Intel. It was an age problem. However, after leaving Intel, it's a double whammy, a skill set problem with skills specific to Intel and the fact that nobody wants to hire a guy in his 50s who can learn the skills but expects a salary above entry level.
More likely it's just an "age problem".
does HR knows your skill set or your boss know? He only knows if or not you have the skill of kissing his a**!
