All of the Brown Mackie Colleges which are also owned by EDMC are being completely closed down. The only ones hurt are the students and those employees that really did care about the students while the higher ups collect their money and move on. This makes me sick

It's McDonald's management training program, located in Chicago.

It's actually far more rigorous and legitimate than where Grape Ape, aka Ai's COO, got his MBA from.

I agree with 2zie. How can you run college libraries with NO librarians at all? And if there are no libraries, how can EDMC even make their usual shaky pretense about running colleges? We're going to make Hamburger University sound like Stanford.

Not the same company now, poisoned by greed and selfishness and ran by money hungry pricks. Don't care about students or employees anymore. Regional managers dont stop anyone good from leaving the company. High up managers just scared for their own jobs and don't want to rock the boat. Current state will kill the whole Ai atmosphere.

why don't some of the CEO's celebrity friends purchase one of the largest Ai's and get us away from the no nothing A holes in Pittsburgh. The schools would be run better individually and I thought they were supposed to be concerned about the students? what a load of----

Wow, pretty incredible, god forbid the Presidents lose their assistants. Who needs teachers or any other positions that support students, we need to keep our Presidents happy!

Makes sense, the current CEO is a complete narcissistic ass everyone says he does nothing but talk about his house, his money and all of his celebrity friends. Thinks very very highly of himself.

How can an adjunt afford to teach a 3 hour class for $150 per-taxes? That's a joke! No pay for prep? No wonder all the quality educators left - they have other options! Only someone with NO experience or hanging onto crumbs would teach at an AI school. EDMC is making the quality of AI so poor that everyone will leave then they can fold cheaply. No need to teach out without students. Adjuncts - if you think you are "getting experience" think harder! NO ONE respects these schools anymore. GET REAL EXPERIENCE and take pride in your profession.

Some extra information left out of original post:

Director of Readmissions: Eliminated

Will not be replaced

ADA positions are considered support and will be decided on a campus by campus basis depending on numerous factors, similar to full time faculty.

Adjunct pay rates will be standardized at $49 per contact hour. This has already been the case for a while for new hires. However this will now be the standard rate for all faculty regardless or previous rates.

The restructure will not entirely affect teach out campuses. Teach ouys however will accelerate thier teach out scheduled with emphasis on shutting down mist operations between January and June of 2017.

No new teach outs will be announced. The CEO was very specific that they have ended up costing far more than planned. Operating schools on bare bones staff will be far more lucrative.

As a teacher, I have told students to start getting out. The teach out is a scam for even lower quality education. If you can even call it that.

The assistant to the campus president will still have a job but full time faculty let go at each phase. Speaks volumes...

Please avoid using any names of EDMC or AI staff/managers as it will give the layoff forum cause to remove the post at the request of edmc, it is in fact monitored closely, the CEO even referred to it by name during the president meeting in Scottsdale.
