Granted, that the 8 cylinder Bi-Turbo engine takes 8 quarts of synthetic at $8/quart, and an oil filter is like $10. That's $136 for 1/2 hour of labor.

The 8 cylinder M5 came because of investing in stock and real estate....Not from being a good little engineer waiting for that nice 2-3% raise each year, BTW...
If the mechanic did not come over to your house to change oil, then he has to pay for the real estate, utilities, receptionist to handle paperwork and calls, accountant to do his taxes. He has to buy equipment and tools, the upfront investment needs to be paid back. There's liability insurance cost of the business to prevent people from suing him into bankruptcy. Then he will need to pay business tax ( if he owns the shop) and or personal income tax, state and federal, Medicare, social security, disability, just like we all do. And he is going to save some into IRA for retirement, I hope. With all that expenses and amortization and taxes I doubt he's making a killing on oil change. They make more money doing collision fixing for insurance and therefore ONLY charge you $200. Consider yourself lucky.
