Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

For those that appealed I just received this…

We want to provide an update on the status of your appeal request. At this point, we anticipate we will complete our review of your appeal by June 10, 2016, which will occur after your separation from employment on May 31, 2016. In the event that we overturn your termination decision, you will be reinstated without loss of pay or benefits. We recognize that this is a difficult time for you and ask for your continued patience so that we can thoroughly review your concerns.

Thank you,

The Appeals Committee

I received an email from the Appeal Committee late in the evening which simply confirmed the verbal message I received 2 days earlier. But the email referenced input from my manager. Uncertain whether they spoke to him in reference to the appeal or whether they simply re-read the focal SL4 which brought me here. Or, more likely, just rubber-stamped their way through a hundred or more appeals without real consideration to make the numbers. I know for a fact that none of the people with pertinent information I cataloged in my appeal form were contacted, and at least the person delegated to telephone me knew nothing of my case.

Only reason the process is there is for the appearance of an appeal and to provide a process to avoid a lawsuit LOL

Thanks. Did they offer him/her an option, VSP or come back to work?

They haven't over turned a single ISP to date. They've extended some folks by 6 months, but no ISP over turned. I know you are hoping to have a fair review, but an HR person is going to interview you and personally tell you "No". Sorry folks, focus on your futures now.

It's not clear if they conduct an actual ODI for the appeal, or just a rubber stamp review of why ISP was given. It appears that the latter was applied to my case, and HR could not confirm during phone discussion.

no idea.. in my case , my ODI got overturned as my manager was found at fault as part of the focal he gave me so everything was turned into successful with sl3's. BTW, they did nothing to that manager and he still working on his role.

quick advise ;).. If they overturn your ISP and bring you back they can not force you to pay the separation package back all at once.

What I mean is that they will try to pull the separation money back the same way they gave it to you (in the case of direct deposit so make sure it is not sitting in your bank acct. or wherever ur direct deposit on record) and if not, then they will ask for it back and if you say you don't have it anymore(paid debts, prepared for unemployment, invested, gave it away..etc) they will try to negotiate a quick re-payment plan (1-5 payment,..etc)..

Here is the beauty of this, you can tell them that you will pay them ALL back but can only afford 100-200(or whatever you want) per check until everything is return(whatever that takes). They will agree as they can nor force you on the monthly amount without messing your personal finances and income security which is grounds for a litigation and they will not go there.

The monthly payment back will be free of interest so if your ISP gets overturned , you just got a nice free interest fat loan with very low payments. ;)

the only downside is that they will retain all your bonuses(minus $10.00) and you will also need to report the separation package as extra income for IRS which you could then recover back ALL those taxes once is fully paid off as Intel will give you a proof or full re-payment once complete for IRS purposes .

I am still paying mine back after I won my ODI and that is all I will say about this , so, if you got your separation money, move it out of you main acct ASAP so they can not pull it back if they bring you back and negotiate this as it was out of your control the actions they took and you never asked for that money to begging with ..

I hope your ODI's turns on your favor and if not, please go in peace and may God bless you guys in your future endeavors.. Peace.
