So I was laid off over 6 months ago, right before Christmas, Merry Christmas to me and my family right. Well I get a call to ask for my help in locating documents from the Head guy and the new person they replaced me with. What the hell?

I would have laughed and probably reported the moron calling me to schlumberger HR asking if they authorized this person to contact laidoff employees.
I can completely believe that story. SLB thinks that even former employees bleed blue. If/when I get walked, I 'll just take my walking papers, handover my badge, keys and laptop and get the f*** out of there. I heard a story about some lady who was cut loose, and she took forever to leave, was trying to tie up all sorts of loose ends. And even the HR lady (and you know they do not care at all) finally told her to just go home and the manager would just have to deal with whatever was left. I hope you told the manager to either get bent, or look in the wrong location.
