So, INTEL is oriented to what strategy?! IOT cloud, where the major R&D is expected till Y2020. So, if INTEL prepares to toss out SoFIA, how INTEL will win decent share market in IOT cloud computing?
Servers? Yes, servers are cool. But what about end-devices in the cloud? Periphery?
With the carved in stone strategy, which makes out of PC client devices IOT devices, INTEL is very different animal than other ARM based licensees. ARM based licensees modify HW to the wishes of the end customers. ARM based licensees use Open Source all the way to promote their HW and FW.
Now... Said that, does INTEL have any ability to steer itself to Common Sense in IOT world? If INTEL IOT ailing management starts to do this Today, how long it will take them to reach normal potential of, let say, Freescale???
Looking (from my point of view) not at all good (rather bad) for INTEL, concerning their dream wishes to be major player in IOT. Rather it looks like one more failing attempt, with the same outcome as in mobile. No Go, once again. Auch!
Impact? How many more layoffs rounds will hit INTEL till 2020? 10K more? 30K more? You name it!
