Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

I heard rumors that some HR groups happen to be under new focal "pilot plan" where no SL is assigned... So they weren't affected for this layoff

Is that even fair? Given the semi-secret layoff from last year, one could pretty safely assume HR saw this coming looooong ago and acted to save only their own as$*s exclusively!

Other non HR groups did new focal this year too - we did. Results and SSL numbers are the same process but you just talk with FLM, no paperwork.

HR does get SSL. And they do get laid off. I got laid off last year. I had transferred to IT in January -- the new job was listed to a grade level higher than I was. My old HR team had no incentive to give me good stock of course.

I also know of at least 1 guy in HR who got laid off this year. He had been with Intel for 20 years. I also know a few more who took VSP.

My new manager said there was no FOCAL info/documentation in the system, just a "successful" and SSL 4. There was nothing he could do to save me.

HR is under a new focal pilot but you still get a SSL and can get an IR if warranted. HR also got headcount reduction targets in the same range as everybody else in all of this.
