Agree. Go private again.
I don't think it's any fault of Seagate in the hole they're in. The demands (or lack of it) are the reasons. Seagate should again become private IMHO
What? So we are outsourcing the call center in OKC?
Based off of the open meetings that the management team have had around outsourcing, it's clear that we are going to see some big layoffs in OKC. Sad that not only are the people who are the face of Seagate going to be impacted but it's also going to mean a worse support experience for the customers contacting us. Too bad that our "leader", AC, can not practice what he preaches about the Seagate Way and actually provide us an honest answer instead of continuing to lie to us. In some ways, I hope that I am impacted with this layoff so that I don't have to deal with his lying and manipulation any longer.
Maybe WD is hiring
Convergys? My God, times are bad.
All hands meeting next Tuesday. We know the topic. Managers meeting last Thursday, so something big is in the works...
So, if you want to keep working for Seagate go ahead and apply for the jobs below:

For more information, just check the calendars for the " meetings" being held. Or, you can always ask A.C. and he will promise you that everything is ok.
I hope they lay me off. Everyone there is so miserable!
They let go the only Human people minded director in the Support Center in Oklahoma City. They say we will not outsource but what they do not know is they left the calendars visible for the "outsourcing meetings" being held.
Stop the madness and be open as is the stated Seagate Way.
Morale will not get better when the teams doing the grunt work never see recognition or compensation.
ALWAYS HAVE A PLAN B for when they lie to you directly they let you go.
check out wd board. bloodbath over there.
Got to maintain that executive compensation somehow. Steves 30 mil a year salary has to come from somewhere.
I hope this place burns.
Layoff will not help. Mr. Luczo is running the company buried his head in the sand. Too much focus on returning cash to shareholder - too little on the product & long term need.
And yes they need to layoff lower level employees to keep up the mgmt compensation. It sucks.
They generally layoff the worker bees to protect directors and above. Hence the problem never ceases. Glad that I was laid off the last time around. Now in a much better and happier place.
Bases on the past experience, SEAGATE does not do big layoff. Need to see senior management change, otherwise, continuous small RIF's shall go on.
Yup, Dave made it very clear to the Street that layoffs to fix STX opex structure are coming. Have to scale the business to the shrinking TAM.
Based on what was stated in the conference call today, I'd say they'll announce reductions by July 1. Sounds like facilities will be closing as well.
Dave Morton: "We are currently sizing future non-reoccurring restructuring cash charges that we are estimating will be approximately $150 million over the next several quarters. We anticipate having more detailed actions identified within 60 days and we will expect that the financial benefits of these actions will begin to have a positive impact in the September quarter with the full benefit occurring in calendar 2017."
No, I don't think it's warranted. Not when they keep over paying for acquisitions than botching them. Not when executive compensation is so excessive. Not when wages have been frozen for years. Hell, lower the dividend if neccesarry, were making plenty of cash.
If they were smart they'd stop this nonsense of cutting people once every month or two. Do a mass layoff and just be done with it.
Well, given the company's performance and earnings announcement, a layoff to stabilise the company seems warranted, doesn't it?
