Please, give me a break. Older employees? Obviously the production does not justify the rewards. Outsourcing is the way to go. Chinese, Vietnamese, Indians, etc are doing the same job for fraction of that. So Imagine laying off 200x $100K = 20M and hiring equal amount or perhaps twice as much 400x$10K = 4M, this is 5 times savings and twice the productivity.
All you need is to blame Apple. Those mfers put all this money in Asia and showed how you can make money paying peanuts. Intel should do the same.
Older people are too expensive to keep. Why pay someone $150k when an RCC can do it for $75K? And if the older guys had a good financial plan since they started with Intel, I bet you will have enough money by now to live a good life without any work for the rest of your retirement.

It doesn't matter if older workers are inordinately affected if the business rationale is "cost-cutting" or "restructuring." (2009 Supreme Court majority of Roberts, Scalia, Thomas, Kennedy, Alito. The "pro business" team.)
This is why Dow Chemical dropped their appeal and settled when Scalia died: it's no longer a "pro business" Supreme Court - and a 4-4 split means the previous court's ruling stands.
They don't want to pay for your medical care. The CEOs and VPs want to be able to pay their lifetime medical for their families. All of this is over US medical costs. Yet, all of this is due to paying for free medical to illegal's crossing the border for free health care. That is what most of this US unemployment hell is all about. You losing your job is mostly due to health care costs. That is why workers over 40 and American families are being dismissed.
