RCG's and Interns, be very prepared to work your a$$ off , 24x7. No outside life. Being called at 2am when you have already worked a 10+ hr day.
You will be ok , for awhile, but how much are you willing to sacrifice to keep a job? Money set aside, too many RCG's have left the company because they want a life outside of Intel. Not have their lives be filled with Intel Intel Intel. Pick up some skills kid, for a better job down the line.
It's too much to ask to be honest. If half of the people working at Intel were honest, would ask for less than they are earning, to match salary with real contribution. It is frustrating to see some talking heads, that I see never delivering anything. And, for the people that whine a lot about people from India, just look at the mirror: are you putting enough effort as the Indians?
Really. Would you pay the price of banded acetaminophen if you could get the same results for the store-branded one? People from India work hard, and complain little. Maybe if we did the same we would be able to compete.
Whenever I read, or heard about some Americans complaining about people from other countries taking their jobs, I get reminded of what I have experience myself: I was born here, but I lived in Mexico until I was 18. I was taught to work hard. I worked in the fields while getting a college education. Thanks God, I got hired by Intel. I've, since, been trying to be a positive impact to Intel. After all, I get paid to do that. And, if Intel were to decide that I'm not longer needed, I would not turn against the company that has helped me for all this years. I'll be grateful for the opportunity given.
I feel sad for the new generation coming into the workforce -- the Millenniums -- who feel entitled to everything. It's going to be bad for companies, and for America. We will become Europe, where 1% GDP growth is the norm. The great US of A will no longer be. :(

All the people that I know of that have been laid off were long time employees. Seems like older, higher paid employees are the target.
Project cancellations should be announced over the next few weeks. I heard that they will first try to reorg cancelled project members to other projects if possible. But the leftover members without a new project would be laid off, not redeployed.
RCG = Reverse Cow Girl? they will stay at Intel forever...
Before asking about job secure, ask yourself what is your contribution to the company 1st.
Be honest. Are you and your team really contributing to Intel or you are pretending to work?
RCGs are not secure. What makes you think that RCGs are secure? Is it because of low salary?
