Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

The most common denominator seems to be males over the age of 45.

I am male, hispanic, and over 45. So i would say the trend is 45 an over which probably are the ones with the 6 figure salaries and grades 7 and above. So they were trying to find any excuse to replace us with RCGs and lower grades

The women who wrote being Hispanic with PHD, I am Asian Female with my MSEE first time SSL5 because I started looking for new opportunities in January and moved into my new group in March. This was last years 2015- July firing. Even though I had just received an award in the new group for extra work I had done. Intel HR said to go get a lawyer an than we can review your case. They would not even look at the fact I moved and that is why I was being punished with a SSL5. BTW the reason they added the veriabge about being Exceeding this time is I had received SSL4 during a year I exceeded and received a huge 4.2% raise when everyone else got 2%, my SSL the amount were still relatively high so I did not think anything of it. I had worked for Intel for 15 years. Never a slower than or an IR or anything. Crazy!! I never ended up signing the papers for the extra package. I was not going to let anyone call me lower performer.

I believe they will have to release the data later, verification is another matter. They have to file it somewhere for verification (labor dept or states). Does anyone know the rules?

your sample is 5 people and the average age of the US workforce is 41 years old and probably you asked your friends or peers.... Not a representative sample. Try a representative sample of at least 10% of the population before making generalizations.

I don't think it's about improving diversity numbers, I'm a woman, Hispanic, with PhD, never got low ssl or performance reviews until last focal I received an sl4 only for being out on leave because of having my baby in 2015. Perfect example of lack of compromise of the company with diversity initiatives or support to woman in the workforce...

Commonality I saw in my group was seniority... 5 of us, me the only woman, rest guys from various nationalities... All the senior employees from the team - checkout the turnout in my group, I've been at Intel 4 years and already "senior"

By eliminating this group, the diversity numbers will look that much better and guarantee BK his bonus for hitting that goal.

I've also noticed they tend to be between 5'8" and 6'1". The majority also seem to be right handed and non mormons. Hmm....
