Great expert analysis. Finally I can buy the brand new car I held myself from the fear of layoffs. I am also going to apply for pre approval of mortgage. Time to start enjoying life.

More jokes. The water analogy on this thread sums it up best. As long as we're in the red, there WILL be more layoffs.
Congratulations to all! You survived the toughest downturn in modern times. Thanks for your service.
Lol good joke
For most part layoffs are over after this last 10k goes
Isn't the saying, plan for the worst and hope for the best?? Funny thing, we were told "no more layoffs" in my department 6 months ago....there's been 3 layoffs since then. Nothing's certain....especially 100%.
You're saying that if you fall into water 20 feet deep and sink to bottom, that rising 4 feet off the bottom is time to take a breath to ease your aching lungs. Oil is still at 2004/5 prices and gas is stupid cheap. I wish it were otherwise but you have to keep things in perspective.
Yes with a lag good times are back for service providers.
That's funny, no more than a week ago, PK stated the exact opposite and that we're operating in a "full-scale crash crisis." It's really nice that you're in TIG, good for you. Meanwhile, check out the newly acquired CAM. Layoffs every other month for the most part are now the norm with the most recent happening less than a week ago. In any case, believe what you will. Myself and my "armchair expertise" have been involved in this industry for many years now, through the previous downturn, in the difficult conversations with management. What are those discussions you ask? Simple, "still too many workers and not enough work." Keep pumping rainbows up everyone's @sses....a company that has lost hundreds of millions and is still experiencing layoffs will be fine and dandy in a few months. Yea right, rookie.
Pk already said markets are rebalacing by the end of the year. Keep your couch expertise to yourself. I work in TIG and there are no layoffs.
Seriously, can you be that dumb.....and "confirmed 100%." Wow. Anyone who makes those statements in the energy dependent industry certainly has not been around long and for sure is not in the know. Speak to anyone of substance in this field, this downturn is predicted to even get worse over the next couple quarters and will take the next two years to even get out of the red. Most reports have given up on 2017 and are now suspecting early 2018 for the back on track upturn. Do you really think the biggest downturn in decades will just fix itself overnight while we're still currently in the middle of layoffs? Wake up. I certainly hate being pessimistic but trying to get people's hopes up when you obviously have no clue is only crippling them when they're blindsided by the next layoff. Don't listen to this person and prepare yourselves. Then again, whatever you've got to tell yourself so you can sleep at night right? Maybe I'll start believing in the Easter Bunny and Santa again too.....
No more finally. Such a great news!
You're so f-----g stupid. How did you ever get hired in the oil industry in the first place. Any half moron knows this thing won't end overnight.
Confirmed 100%. No more layoffs. Stock rewards for those who are left.
