Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

My I-140 approved got a soft copy from fragome n . Now i lost the job. Any help on my case ?

Right now i am on my H1 . i have validity of another 3 years. Also my I-140 got approved and got soft copy of the papers. Now i lost the job.

May i know how to proceed further. Because i dont think i can stay in USA more than 10 to 15 days. Not able to get new job in the mean time. but trying.

If i am not able to get the job and i need to return to india , what are the options i can be back ?

Right now i am planning to keep trying for new job... Not sure what will happen to my h1b ? or i can file extension petition with approved I-140 ?

companies should inform 2 months before laid off. that way qualcomm is too good "they provided 50 days notice" in most of the departments.

Go back to that sh-- hole you came from. Your families probably have mansions now with all that money you tightwads send to them to keep them out of the cardboard box / rat infested ghetto

You need to contact immigration right away.

@iln OK I get it you are upset. Do not act as if Indians have come here and kicked you out. There are lots of Indians, Chinese, Philippines and almost every nationality, ethnicity, who got affected.

I Know personally at least 30 Indians who were Laid off, almost equal number in Chinese population. It is not just that, there are even Recent college grads who just started their career, I wonder what performance lag they found in 7 months performance.

Blaming one Ethnicity for a mishap just shows your anger and lack of rationale thereof and more importantly your deficiency to grasp basic concepts of Macro Economics.

find job here atleast you can do change of status even if its more than 30/40 days but not over 180days. check some immi-forums/attorneys.

Quick way is to get job at consulting head-hunters, who contract to their clients based on your field of expertise.

I=140 is not any GC to stay here and a copy with will help you later for GC priority date portability and H1B extensions with new employer.

You have at least 30 days notice. Till May 31st. You are on Intel's pay roll till then. Then count down starts.

Please consult an immigration attorney. Trackitt is also a good source (but by no means attonrney's advice). When to talk to an attorney, mention that you are on pay roll till 31st May.

You might want to consider volunteering for Donald Trump's election campaign.

Unlike what @ksk said do not go back. Game the system and stay here. There are lots of opportunities where you can supplant old white males

Go back home to India and find a job there. Plenty of opportunities there these days, I hear.

Go to trackitt.com or murthy.com and you will have answers to your questions. If you have an approved I-140 it usually means you should be OK. This was 4-5 years back. I do not know how/if the rules have changed
