ERP/VSP/ISP notifications while on MLOA

I went on MLOA (actually family leave caring for a non-ambulatory relative) just before the rumors started. Really chomping at the bit concerning what's going on. In contact with a couple of people in my group and all I know so far is that at least one person in my group got an ERP letter along with several others I know of in other groups.

My manager hasn't contacted me at all, but since I'm on leave he may feel that he's not supposed to, so I'm considering contacting him...

The leave admins are saying that in the event of an ISP I get paid for 30 days after my return. For VSP I have 30 days tacked onto my decision window (though if it's a bonded VSP that may be moot). Not sure about ERP but I don't think I'm eligible since I'm not retirement-eligible...

Does anyone have any info on layoff status of those on leave?

Did you contact your manager while you were still on leave? I'm pondering doing that on Monday if I don't hear anything today...

I was on MLOA when mine happened and you get 30 days upon return for an ISP. That was my case. I did contact my manager but they can't fire you because you are protected by FMLA

I forgot to add the link to the FMLA in my previous post, here you can see all of the statutes under the law: http://www.dol.gov/whd/fmla/fmlaAmended.htm

Poster @H8BuKQh-kyy is a troll, disregard them.

When you are on MLOA you have job protection under FMLA, SEC 2. Title I Sec.104 which clearly states you can not be released from employment while you are on MLOA, if you have concerns about status at work, you should contact HR and not your manager:

SEC. 104. EMPLOYMENT AND BENEFITS PROTECTION.

(a) RESTORATION TO POSITION.--

(1) IN GENERAL.--Except as provided in subsection (b), any eligible employee who takes leave under section 102 for the intended purpose of the leave shall be entitled, on return from such leave--

(A) to be restored by the employer to the position of employment held by the employee when the leave commenced; or

(B) to be restored to an equivalent position with equivalent employment benefits, pay, and other terms and conditions of employment.

DO NOT contact your manager, unless you want to be fired immediately.
