Any infomation about layoffs in Germany?

Well that would only be true if this side has a social compensation plan, which iirc can only be established by a work council.
It is not true that the company must pay until the laid off person has another job.
ISP is allowed, but the company must prove, that there is no other possibility in the company for the person. In addition if there are several candidates, they must first check the social situation of the person. Who has family is in advantage. Nearly nobody in Germany accepts an ISP for free. The usual procedure is to go to court, Court is always hard for a company like Intel because Intel is not in financial trouble. That would justify layoffs. A court case might take long, unless the company pays. For each year about half a monthly salary is usual. Means that somebody who works there for 20 years gets about 20 x 0.5. In addition to the money that has to be paid for the remaining months. Usually 3 months, but quite often these 3 months startg at the beginning of the next quarter. Throwing somebody with such a contract out at the beginning of the year means effectively end of June.
Because of this companies start mobbing, in order to make the candidates tired. Sometimes very effectively.
How many is the target for Munich? Any infomation available?
ISP in Germany is really a VSP. BY law Intel will need to pay employees till they retrain into another job with equivalent pay.
How many in your office? Are we talking about paderborn or another location?
With the st paul closure, I'd be shocked if they closed paderborn too - would effectively kill the mwg product.
Then again, site closure decisions don't seem to have factored anything in other than the size of the office.
